I live in Northeast Wisconsin, and I have been researching online for interesting and unique venues for about 2 weeks. I have found NOTHING for reception spaces! The Knot site doesn't have anything even within an hour of us, and other sites list the same old places over and over. I can't do a hotel, conference center, or banquet hall. I just can't!!
We found an amazing old opera house that could do the ceremony, but has no space for a reception of 150 guests. Otherwise, I've been thinking of libraries, airports, museums, movie theaters (my personal favorite, if we could find a good one), etc. I want to plan my theme around the space.
Anyone have advice on what types of buildings to look into? Keep in mind, we're not near a big city, and we have to stay in budget.
