We've deicided to not have kids at the wedding. We've addressed the outer envelope as "Mr and Mrs John Smith" and the inner envelope as "Jane and John Smith." The No Kids thing has also been spread through word of mouth.
So here we go....A guest says to my mom that she didn't realize kids weren't invited. She goes on to say that she RSVP'd for one (her and her husband were both invited) and she would send her husband and two kids back to the hotel after the ceremony.
Wait.... what? No kids. Your children were not on the invitation. Apparently a couple of my guests feel this is appropriate. The invitation is for the ceremony AND the reception. Not one or the other. The ceremony and reception are at the same place, for some background. No child's name is anywhere near the invitation.
Did I do something wrong here? What do I do if people RSVP for the reception but then we have 3 times that at the ceremony? I never dreamt in a million years that this would be so confusing.
What should I do?
