Weirdest places to wed in Seattle

I'm in Seattle and looking for something a little different!

What are the weirdest places you've heard people getting married? I've heard of the Shotgun Wedding Chapel in Pioneer Square. Anything else strange?

Thanks for your help!

Re: Weirdest places to wed in Seattle

  • I've also seen one done in a bar which was amazing. I don't know the area (from Canada) but another amazing wedding I went to they rented out an old school theatre (think stage plays with the red curtains and the whole bit) and held it there. It was so cool, and they ran with the theatre theme a bit!
  • There is an beautiful theater in Puyallup that is used for events...cannot remember the name of it right now but I believe they're listed as a venue on the knot - or just google it.

How about Gasworks? Beautiful scenery and backdrop for the pictures and it's not far from the bridge troll :)
  • I'm actually considering gasworks.

Can you narrow down your needs a bit better? Outdoor vs indoor? size of group? This city is FULL of awesome spaces. Also, what is your idea of weird? Edgy like gay bars? Geeky like the library? Lumpy like the Troll?

[QUOTE]OP, please don't get married in a gay bar if you're straight. Despite the best efforts of the governor, it's still not legal for gays and lesbians to be married in WA and, even then, not recognized nationally. People would see this as rubbing your straight-ness and civil rights-having-ness in their faces. Go with a regular bar instead, if you like this idea.

<div>Of course I didn't mean anything by it; I was writing off the cuff. Since I live on Cap Hill there are may lovey gay bars that came to mind, but your point is well taken. I've attended some fundraisers for Referendum 74, the WA Same-Sex Marriage Veto Act. Maybe it should have been "edgy like Babeland". :-) Now there's an idea. </div>
