Industrial wedding- problem #1

Hi! After lurking for awhile I wanted to post and see if anyone may be in the same boat or have any ideas.

My FI and I are on the gothic side of life and when we were looking for venues nothing clicked, but then I was listening to this band Aesthetic Perfection & I realized we should have our reception in a industrial setting (like a warehouse or something).

The problem with this is how do I find a venue that usually doesn't do weddings? Or really anything but industrial business that will be open to my idea?

I posted on my local board and I've had no luck. I'm posting on here in hopes that somebody else has attempted too/succeeded in getting a venue for their reception that did not usually have/ allow weddings.

Try approaching it as if you're looking for the space for more normal uses, maybe google something like industrial spaces for music videos or video shoots as they are obviously open to the space being occupied by people and not afraid of the legalities that go with that. Once you've found some locations, contact the owners and explain your situation. They are either going to say no, and all you've lost was the time  you took to contact them, or they'll be on board

have you already decided on a photographer?  they may be able to help you figure out a venue.

So, turns out one trip to craigslist and I found an old RCA warehouse just down the road from me that is open to the idea of being my wedding venue! Thanks for your advice!
