Cakes

What is everyone doing for cake?

Me...my baker is making a "fake cake" - 3 layers round - for pictures, etc.  Only the middle layer will be real for cutting and doing the whole feed each other cake thing.  Then she is making us sheet cakes to serve. 

The fake cake will be 3 layers, round with white frosting, and just a ribbon around the bottom of each layer, the cake topper will just be a small arrangment of gerbera daisies.

The edible layer will be the same as the sheet cakes, which is lemon cake with raspberry cream cheese filling, covered in white buttercream. 

Fondant is so pretty, but tastes so nasty!  I don't see the sense in wasting money on it when people are just going to throw it away.
