So one of my maid of honors and I have been pondering a Disney love theme for a few weeks and finally decided that we just couldn't make it work without it becoming cheesy and childish
! But we in the process came up with another great idea and I wanted to see if anyone else has seen or done something similar or had any suggestions.
Basically each table will represent a country, the centerpieces will be a picture of that countries notable architecture (Eiffel tower, taj mahal, big ben, etc) as well as possibly incorporate some flowers or vines typical (or as close as we can) of that country. Around the centerpiece will be tokens from that country (maybe Japanese fans, or fortune cookies, wine corks, etc). Also our escort and place setting cards will be luggage tags designed for the country that you'll be seated at with a replaceable name plate so you can use it again. And to tie everything together things such as the linens and stationary will have a damask feel to them,
Its a symbolic gesture of our wedding that our lives together is just the start.... the world is (quite literally) at our fingertips to enjoy together and with our loved ones.
