My fiancé and I got engaged in November 2010. We were originally planning an August 2012 wedding. We are having a secular ceremony and we want it to be very low-key and intimate. Neither one of us really feels as though we need an extravagant wedding; we kind of feel as though we're making all these plans just to make sure everybody else is happy with our wedding.
We are toying with the idea of moving the wedding to September 2011. The only reason we are getting married is to be together; the wedding is not important to us. We just want to have fun for a night and celebrate being in love. Our parents are okay with us moving it, as is my maid of honor. The only thing we're worried about is overwhelming ourselves with moving our wedding up a year.
