I never wanted a bridal shower - I hate being the center of attention (the wedding will be enough of that!), I find them pretty boring and the idea of having a huge pile of stuff to deal with afterwards (even if it is stuff we picked out and put on a registry) sounds exhausting. But once I got engaged my family and friends all said "oh, but when it's your shower, you'll love it!" so I decided to go along with it to make my family happy, and esp my mom. My mom is the coolest lady around and I wanted to give her the full mother of the bride experience, cause she is so into it! But I was just having too much anxiety about it so I told my mom and sis that I really don't want one. Nothing had to be cancelled or anything, it was not going to be til summer and it was just going to be at someone's house anyway. My mom and sis were really supportive, they are the best.
Has anyone else kindly rejected the idea of a shower? Did you do anything instead? My one friend also did not want a shower so she and her sisters did a spa day. Bingo! This sounds like a plan to me and what we are doing now.Whew, dodged that bullet
