Gay Weddings

Super torn, :(

Not sure what to do about a wedding date, my fiancé wants to go to NYC 12/13/14 and get married which is completely fine but then I want to have a big wedding in my hometown so my whole family can come. I'm torn as far as the date, I feel like 12/13/14 is forever far away and if we have something after we go to NYC it will have to be in 2015 because of the holiday, but I don't know how I feel about having it before we go to NYC because I was hoping to be able to have all my pictures from NYC at my wedding in my hometown!!! HELP!!!

No one can really answer this for you.  If your fiance is stuck on that date, then you'll have to work with that.  I would not have an AHR before your ceremony in NY.  So, if you can't get your fiance to budge on the date, then I'd start planning a 2015 AHR.

Posted by cmgilpin[/QUOTE]I agree that the AHR should not come before the ceremony.  The reception is supposed to be a celebration of the marriage.  Celebrating something that has not happened yet is just going to confuse people.
  • Thanks!!! I think we have decided on a date!! We are doing January 2014 and then a reception when we get back, probably in March over spring break since we are both in school! :)
