Has anyone done a commitment ceremony in Chicago?

FI & I are going back and forth between Boston and Chicago. I know in Boston it's legal, but Chicago is closer and most likely where we may be living in the near future. Has anyone gotten married in Chicago???

  • I am an ordained Minister, and have in fact done a civil union in Chicago.I live in Chicagoland area, and it is really just a matter of you and your partner going to the County you will married in,and applying for a license. You then have 60 days to have  ceremony performed.Hope this helps..   Ordained Minister, T. • Second Unitarian Church is amazing.
  • We're having our wedding in the Chicago-land area, but actually going to Canada to get the legal marriage-- a marriage in Canada will be recognized the most places as far as we can tell.
