Friday vs. Saturday vendor discounts?

Hello All!! We are just about to sign on the dotted line for our venue!! We have chosen Palais Royale but are just deciding on a date. We are not getting married until 2011 so there was still lots of availability. Our venue charges a flat rental fee for the space from Thursday-Sunday. We originally wanted to hold the reception on a Friday to save on venue and catering costs, but we won't in this case by having it on a Saturday. My question is, do other vendors (photographer, florist, decor, etc.) give discounts if you hold on function on a Friday vs. a Saturday? Any experience with this would be really helpful!! Thanks all!

We saved approx 1200 by having the wedding on  a friday instead of a sat with the reception venue.we got a 10% discount on the DJ and photographer as well.No other discounts were to be found.

I think it depends from vendor to vendor.

i got $10 off per person from our reception site/caterer for going with a Friday, but that's it.

Our caterer waived the 'hall rental fee' which was $800 for our wedding being on a Friday. They also are including all of table linens, stem/flatware, china, dishes etc etc. They are also throwing in the chivalry chairs (spelling?) at no cost as well! We saved about 10% the total cost of our wedding by having it on a Friday!
