Mother/son dance

We found my father daughter dance but are having a hard time with the Mother/son. What have you guys picked? I want something modern.  Any suggestion

We are plan to have a song to dance with our children.  My son is a complete mama's boy and my daughter is a daddys girl. I want our day to not only be for us but for them too. Do think i should play two separate songs for the kids or do it at the same time? I think together separate will seem too long to me. But FI thinks separate. What do you guys think? Any suggestions for this song?

are you looking for more than one song.. one for your FI and his mom and one for you guys and your kids?

i am really not looking forward to having to argue with fi about this. i really don't want him to dance with his mom. she and i don't get along and she already thinks our wedding is about her.. sorry i'm no help.

What about midway through the song switching partners?  In my opinion seperate songs would be a bit much.  If we were dancing at our reception I think this is what I would do.

If you are planning on doing a separate father/daughter and mother/son dance, then I would DEFINITELY only do one dance (and a short one) with your kids. Otherwise, it will really start to drag for your guests.

I think just one dance with the kids is plenty. Once everyone's taken a couple of pictures it's just a lot of standing around.

thanks! I will do just one song with my kiddos. Do you have any suggestions for this song? I am stumped :(

What about the mother/son (FI and FMIL) song? What will your FI be dancing too? You all are such a help!

Sarak- Sorry you dont get along with your FMIL. mine is a pain too. we have love hate relationship. That is why I am having such a hard time deciding and she a blubber puss so i dont want to make her cry that loud :)

For now, we're (OK, I'm) planning one dance -- father/daughter & mother/son at the same time.  I'm thinking "I Hope You Dance."  I think that would be a good one for your kids...if you like it.

DH and MIL danced to "One Particular Harbor" by Jimmy Buffet, but there were two signifficant reasons for choosing that song
    1. MIL is a total Parrothead
    2. DH used to be a bat boy for a minor-league baseball team and at the end of each game when MIL came to pick him up from the field, that song would be playing

Is there a song that is sentimental for one reason or another for your FI and his mom??
