Re: Tuesday QOTD

  • Hmm. I've enjoyed my most recent birthdays spent with H. He always has something up his sleeve. :)

  • Oh geez. I don't even know! I think my Sweet 16. My parents surprised me with a big dinner party!

FI always has the best presents so I can't really say based on that alone. :)

I think my sweet 16 probably.  My parents got a limo and had 2 friends for each me and my sister ( I have a twin) and surprised us with the cadillac escalade limo.  We went to hard rock cafe and had a genuine blast!

21 was the worst.  Went to a dueling piano bar with my family, best friend, and FI.  FI was the only one there to stand by me when I didn't want to go up on stage.  They were singing horrid songs to the girls using foul language about sex and what not.  I was so utterly embarressed and upset and mad that they made me go on stage and my mom made fun of me for days afterwards saying that I had changed and was no fun anymore.  I was like um no I just got my morals and beliefs together with what I feel a Christian should be.

Edit: I know that worst wasn't part of the question but I had to share... I'm still mad about it and it was this year that it happened.

  • I'm not really sure. All of them have been great and up until I was 18, my cousin and I (two days apart) shared a party. I really miss those because they were always so much fun.
  • That's a tough one.  I love birthdays!

When I was little, we celebrated my grandpa's and my birthdays together, since his birthday is 2 days before my half birthday and we've always celebrated my half birthday.  I loved that.  We'd celebrate at my grandparents' house in the day, then watch the fireworks from their deck that night - it was the big town fireworks done by the fire department and the show was awesome.  I was about 6 before I realized the fireworks weren't for my birthday!

My 18th birthday was awesome, also.  Nine friends and I had dinner and then went to see All Star United, one of my very favorite bands ever.
  • I would have to say last year. FI and I have bdays like 2 weeks apart so we went for a trip to Mackinac Island on the weekend of his bday to celebrate both of them there.... and that's where I got engaged :) lol
  • One when I was little, we ate homemade pizza and cake, played a pinata and a clown came and did tricks. Just at-home fun, nothing fancy!

Us kids always got to pick out our own cake design (from a book of birthday cakes my mom had), and then she would make it in secret and hide it from us like we didn't know what was coming!  It was always very stealth and hidden.
  • My 21st.  I had a black-and-white party at my house.  We had a specially made cake, a chocolate fountain, pizza, cookies, candy, etc.  ALL of my friends came except maybe one or two (and I haven't been able to get them all together in the same place like that since) and I actually got a few good gifts (in my circle we normally don't even give gifts).  It was a fun party with good food and good friends.  :)

  • the last couple of years, instead of gifts or anything, my family and i have gotten tickets to a broadway show and spent the night together.  2 years ago we saw "Rain" (the beatles one.  we just had so much fun singing and dancing along to the music.  I loved it!
  • OMG Somebody else knows RAIN and ALL star United ??!!  I have all star uniteds autograph and a tshirt from back in the day ... WOW

My best birtrhday was probably 2 years ago when my sister took me and pete to a phillies game... She was so excited I wanted to go all on my own without having her nag me , and my FI got us machting jerseys :)  And the day after I told my FI [ bf at the time ] that I loved him and we had a great shopping trip to King of Prussia mall where he bought a tie that had pink in it which he swore he'd never do but he did it to make me happy and I knew I had him hook line n sinker ;p
