Down the aisle

What song are y'all walking down the aisle to? We're thinking about something not so traditional-perhaps "Take my Life and let it be" perhaps Joyful Joyful...

My FI has his heart set on the Wagner Bridal Chorus (some people call it here goes the bride). I know, totally cliché ... Oh well.

If I didn't have that one, I'd be using the Wedding March from The Sound of Music.

    Cool

I think I'm coming down to "From this Moment" by Shania Twain--- but our musician is just playing it on the guitar, no words. It's beautiful :)

We did "Ode to Joy" (same as "Joyful, Joyful...") for our recessional. I walked down the aisle to "Jesu, Joy of Man's Desiring".

I'm walking down the aisle to this song. http://weddingmusicproject.bandcamp.com/track/storybook-love-2 It's "Storybook Love" from the movie The Princess Bride. There are two different versions on this site, and I don't know for sure which one I'm doing.

I *think* the bridal party will walk to the first half of "1000 Faces" by Randy Montana, and I'll walk after the musical break. FI said that was fine, and we don't want some traditional bridal march (although Jonathon Cain has a GORGEOUS one if you're looking). Anyway, 1000 Faces:

Bridal party walked to "Love" from Disney's Robin Hood (the animated version) and I walked to "Candle on the Water" from Pete's Dragon. Both were played on the harp, no words.

I'm dead seriously considering walking down the aisle to one of the scores from LOST. I am addicted to that show, lol. The music from it is quite beautiful, it was all composed by the award-winning Michael Giacchino.

ETA: A couple that I am considering.

AWESOME!! I think I'd cry if it was the Jin/Sun theme though.

I'd use Locke's theme, but I don't think FI would be able to hold back the urge to yell "DON'T TELL ME WHAT I CAN'T DO, EVER!" while I was walking towards him. :-P

ETA: FI thought it would be hillarious to do this one from about 45 seconds in: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xKv0CvI5XiY

Mothers and Bridesmaid's are walking to Gabriel's Oboe from the movie The Mission:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=L41oGXgVmZg (it'll be organ and probably trumpet solo since my oboe friend will be at an oboe camp during the wedding, go figure!)

I'm walking to St. Anthony's Chorale with two trumpets (which reminds me I need to arrange the music for that, or have FI do that!!)

For our recessional, this is where our music geekness shines through. I really wanted the main theme of Brahm's 1st symphony, 4th movement, and actually found a well known organist and composer/arranger in FRANCE who is arranging the theme for organ for us FOR FREE!!! It should be done next month and I'm so pumped to hear it!!

Overall, I wanted traditional (aka classical music), but I didn't want the typical traditional music!

Canon in D. I was talking to my music minister and his wife tonight and they said it would be a good idea to wait until the song got to the "big" part of the song to open the doors and walk down the aisle.

This is about the only "traditional" thing in my wedding - it's the bridal chorus, but played in panflute instead of on the organ.

I'm walking down the aisle to Jesu, Joy of a Man's Desiring. It was only appropriate
because I tried to catch his attention at a Bach concert.

We are walking up the aisle to the chorus of Shine, Jesus Shine.
