Re: Monday QOTD

  • Ooh, I loved all of it! My favorite scene was the Children's Literature section. I also loved the part with Mr. Bean.

  • I loved all of it, too!!  Especially the Deaf & Hearing Children's Choir signing and singing God Save the Queen.
  •  I really liked the concept of the cauldron this year, and to me, Paul McCartney singing "Hey Jude" was just perfect.
  • I liked the opening ceremony! I loved the music and Children's Lit part too. Thought they should have put more Harry Potter in it :p

I'm enjoying watching the gymnastics. It baffles me how they are so bendy and can stay so balanced!

  • YES. I <3 them. Unfortunately, the DVR ate the opening ceremonies and we've been catching highlights only. :(
  • I saw most of the opening ceremony up until the procession of all the countries.  I liked the historical stuff, but the big baby thing was really creepy.

  • We don't have a TV, so I haven't been able to watch anything yet.

  • I guess I'm in the minority but I thought the opening ceremony was terrible and unbelievably boring. I liked the torch lighting but that is mainly because I love the tradition of that.

  • H puts the Olympics on sometimes so I watch with him once in awhile. I'm mesmerized by the gymnastics and the team diving or whatever it's called.

As for the opening ceremonies... I saw some of it because I was at a family party and they had it on. I don't mean to sound like a Debbie Downer, but I think it is such a waste of money. They had to have spent at least a million dollars, probably more, on that ceremony. When I think of how many starving or hurting people they could have helped with all that money, it makes me kind of sad. I do really like the countries all walking in with the athletes and the torch lighting. And I can appreciate a short (like Super Bowl halftime show length) show. I just feel they went overboard. (I do realize that I'm the only one who feels this way. The family was loving it and my mom was SO into it).
  • I adore the olympics.  Sadly, I missed the Opening Ceremonies but I think they're on hulu, maybe?  I'm hopeful I'll get to watch soon.
  • I'm in the same boat as Sarah. We don't have TV so I can't watch either
