QOTW - Week of May 8 - DIY Projects

Did you or will you do DIY projects for the wedding?  What are you doing yourself?  Do you have inspiration pics (or if married, actual pictures of some of your DIY)?  Is there anything that you thought you'd do yourself but changed your mind?  What are you most excited about?

My DIY projects are in my bio under the "DIY" link.

I was most excited about our card box and our guest book (both were using our e-pics).  The activity book for the kids was fun too and they seemed to enjoy them.  One thing I don't have pictures of are the chocolate spoons I made with my mom and aunt which turned out so well that people thought I had bought them.

I had considered doing pew cones but they weren't turning out so I asked my pastor's wife if she would make pew bows for me.

The girls on my month board are DIY crazy...in a good way. They all have fantastic taste, but they make me feel soo bad, lol. I'm have not and probably will not DIY anything. School was enough on it's own and that just ended Thursday...now I'm starting my field and lab research job tomorrow and that will be somewhere between 40 and 60 hours per week. I wish there were more hours in a day, or that I didn't need sleep, but it doesn't look like I'll be DIYing anything, That's okay, though. I LOVE looking at everyone elses. :)

I only did DIY save the dates.  They ended up being so much work and costing more than I had anticipated, so I gave up doing DIY anything after that.  It's also hard when having a cross-country wedding.

We made the programs, pew bows and card box.  I think that's it...I was in school and didn't have much time.  I had grand plans to DIY our invites but ran out of time.  We did write our entire ceremony ourselves, however.

    1. Ceremony programs (no pics yet, we haven't printed them!)
    2. Bubble Wands / with Ribbons (not much DIY except the ribbons, lol)
    3. Menu Cards with Reception order of events
    4. Favors - we're doing fudge packets wrapped in tulle, tied up with string with a personalized favor tag including a "thank you" side and a photosharing side on the card.
    5. Card Box - purchased an ivory one, probably going to paint it if I have time.
    6. Veil - we ordered the "base" and mom is sewing on the lace to make it more special.  Mom is goign to finish cutting the lace and sewing it sometime next week!!

that's all i can think of for now.  We hired a friend to DIY the decorations, so she's not doing any pre-packaged stuff, but she is putting it all together from scratch.  Should be awesome!!
July 16, Our Wedding Day, is also International Juggling Day!
