  • Do you want kids? If yes, how many?
Yes. As many as God will give me. I wouldn't mind four or more, and I would love twins, but they don't run in our families at all. As a kid, DH wanted an entire baseball team worth. ;)

    Scariest moment of your life?
When I was about 16. I went on a date with this one guy and we accidentally ended up in the middle of a union strike. There were several huge guys bearing down on our vehicle with rocks in their hands. I was terrified. Thankfully we got out of there safely.

When was the first moment you really "felt" God for the first time?
As a teenager I went on a youth trip where we went to a lake. We were sitting on the dock singing praise songs at sunset, and I really felt God's presence all around me. It was the first time I "felt" Him, rather than just hearing about Him.

If you won the lottery, what would you do with it?
If we had enough money, DH could stop working for a while and just focus on building our house, and we could hire more people to help it go faster. I'm so impatient! Plus, I could decorate it however I wanted.
I would also put a huge chunk into savings and spend some time visiting my family. Money is the number one reason I don't see them very often. I'd also donate to charity, like to CASA or Alzheimer's research.

    Favorite vacation? Why?
I loved when my family would go to Leavenworth growing up. It's this adorable little Bavarian town in WA. There was always fun music and costumes, and a gingerbread shop, and a wooden toy shop that I could visit with my baby sister. It was way more fun taking her around town than shopping with my mom.
  • What's your favourite movie?
White Christmas. And not just in December. I'll watch it all year round. ;)
I also love musicals in general - especially the ones from the Judy Garland/Gene Kelly era.

Are you guys going to wait a bit before TTCing? (sorry if TMI, you can skip it if you want)
Yeah, originally it was because we wanted some time just the two of us, then because I'm not supposed to get pregnant for 6 months after my bloodborne pathogen exposure at work. But now we want to get our house at least mostly built first. So hopefully in the next couple of years.
  • Do you and your DH have any funny inside jokes or pet names you would be willing to share?
He calls me Missy Poo. No idea where it came from, but it stuck. So I started calling him Mister Poo back.
And I guess this could be considered an inside joke... We'll be touching nose to nose and one of us will pucker our lips for a kiss. Then when the other person goes in for the kiss, we grin instead. Sort of a "missed" kiss. Sometimes we'll even try to catch each other in a kiss. It cracks us up every time. :D
  • favorite hobby to do with DH?
We are total homebodies, so we do almost everything together, or at least in the same room. But I think my favorite is playing video games. We like to play Mario Bros. Wii and Worms: Armageddon together. Sometimes we'll even just sit and watch each other play RPGs (I recently bought him Skyrim) and give tips, since we both have characters we've made.

So far, so good. I've cleared my 6 week and 3 month checkups. Next one is at 6 months, in September. I'm really not worried at this point, since the odds of having a positive test at 6 months after a negative one at 3 months are VERY low. But it will be nice to have it all behind me. :D
  • How did you and your H meet?  How did you get engaged?  What was your timeline on meeting/dating/getting engaged/getting married?

If you could live anywhere in the world, where would it be?

What is your "vice" (shoes, purses, diet coke...?)

You've just won a brand new vehicle!  What would you want it to be?

What was your first car?  What do you drive now?

If you could only eat one food for the rest of your life, what would it be?  How about if you could choose one type of cuisine?

My (former) pastor invited me to play pick up basketball with their group at a local park. DH was going to school with the pastor's son, so he was there. We played together for a couple of years, then after DH moved back home (4 hours away), he asked me out.

DH was originally going to propose on our 10 month anniversary dinner, but my plane flight home from CA was delayed/cancelled multiple times so he had to do some creative readjusting. He actually proposed the next night (4th of July). He took me to a really nice restaurant on a mountain over the city. We ate dinner, then he took me outside to have dessert on their terrace area. When we rounded a corner, there was a romantic little area set up with candles, rose petals, and a hand drawn portrait of the two of us (in which DH had the artist add the engagement ring to my finger). He got down on one knee and asked me to marry him with fireworks in the distance. :)

Timeline:  Met sometime in 2007, I think. First date September 3, 2009. Got engaged July 4, 2010. Married January 16, 2011. So, 16 months dating/engaged, but we'd kind of known each other a bit longer.
  • If you could live anywhere in the world, where would it be?
You know, I really love where I live right now. Four seasons, never *too* hot or cold, close to winter skiing and summer boating. But if I had to choose someplace different, probably New Zealand. It just looks gorgeous, and there are so mnay things to do there.

What is your "vice" (shoes, purses, diet coke...?)
Carbs. I love bread, desserts, candy, cereal. Yum!

You've just won a brand new vehicle!  What would you want it to be?
Practically speaking, a Honda. So reliable and great gas mileage. Looks-wise, probably a Mustang.

What was your first car?  What do you drive now?
1997 Honda Civic. She's the only car I've ever owned, and she still works great. I've had her for 9 years now. I will be so sad when she dies and I have to get used to something different. :(

If you could only eat one food for the rest of your life, what would it be?
Stuffed quesadilla (I put black beans and brown rice in mine)
How about if you could choose one type of cuisine?
    Mexican, probably.
  • Being that your name is azdancer, I'm willing to bet you are/were a dancer. What types of dance have you had training in or do you enjoy? (I'm a dancer myself, so I'm very interested).

I did ballet for a couple of years when I was young. But they put me en pointe too soon, and my feet couldn't handle it, so I stopped for a while. Then in college I took up sacred dance. My college had a dance club called Jubilation where we did various dance styles all to Christian music. I did and/or taught hula, jazz, Messianic, hip hop, swing, and modern. I learned tap and African dance right after college. Then when I moved to AZ I pretty much stuck to east coast swing and Lindy Hop. I haven't really danced since I got married, though - there's no place around here that offers classes I can attend. I really miss it.
