Need Prayer? Put your praises/requests here (Wk of 3/27)

Prayer requests or praises to share?

Edit - I decided that since I was so encouraged by last week's praises, I would extend last week's post to this week so that we can add on to it.

Have a great week!

After 10 weeks of my 5th graduate degree class I have maintained my 4.0!! I have 5 classes left  including my thesis so I am half-way there. I have tried really hard and have been praying about this so all I can do is praise God :)

Praise: My FMIL got her tax return today and is able to pay for my venue, my wedding planner, and for the food (total equals to $3560). I would NOT be able to have this wedding without her support..so praise God!

Prayer Request: My amazing FI is coming home May 9th (SSOOO EXCITED!) but we still need a room for him to rent...since i am living with his family and we don't want to love together before we are married. it will only be for 3 months...so we want to find him a cheap room with some Christian men. He will barely be there since he will be working (which also pray for that. His old boss says that he is going to hire him full time...but it is weather permitting...he does asphalt. Can't lay asphalt if it is raining. So please pray for good weather and LOTS of jobs). Also he probably won't be there a lot cuz he will be with at our house. So..he just needs a place to sleep when he isnt working.

    thanks!

Praise:  My friend's daughter, born a week early via c-section after a 55 hour failed induction, is doing very well.  Mommy is also healing well and both parents are adjusting very well to parenthood.  I was concerned about my friend because she's a very rigid person and I was afraid she wouldn't be flexible with the situation, but she's surprised me.  I know God is changing her through parenthood and it's awesome to watch!

Praise, part 2:  H is beginning to look for a new job!  He's been in the same job, making the same (low) wage since we were married 8 years ago.  It is a dead end job.  There is no room for advancement and he will never make more money.  He is capable of so much more, but he is just now beginning to believe that himself, which is translating into him beginning to look for a position that is a better fit for him and will allow him to grow in the company as he grows within himself, which is fantastic.

Praise, part 3:  My dad had surgery on 3/22 to remove the right side of his colon, his appendix, and his gall bladder.  There was a pre-cancerous polyps on his colon and "something" on his gall bladder.  He opted to take care of it now rather than waiting for it to develop into cancer.  The surgery went very well and he is doing great, sitting up and eating broth and jello less  than 24 hours after the surgery!

Prayers:  For H as he begins the job hunting process, that he not get discouraged, but also that he is discerning in the jobs he applies for and ultimately in choosing a new job.  Also, for my dad as he continues to heal and recover from surgery, and for all of us as we await the pathology report on the "something" on his gall bladder.

    I will pray!

There is a lot going on with the education budget in my state. People are thinking about the possibility of furloughs and/or pay freezes. It's caused a lot of worry for some people. I say it's all in God's hands and worrying only makes you feel stressed, but I know it's hard. Prayers that we all will be calm and everything will work out for the best, please.

    Still Prayer:
So...please continue to pray that my FI will have lots and lots of asphalt jobs this summer to make lots of money! (: Declaring increase and prosperity!

Also...we have decided that my FI is going to stay at home (spend time with his momma..before i become the #1 girl in his life) and i will be renting a room so i really need to find something very very cheap...since i will only be there for 3 months and need to pay for the wedding and save money for our own place.

    Praise:
my FMIL prayed over me the other day and i am just feeling sooo awake and alive! God is soo good! He is silencing the enemy in my ear and is speaking loudly the voice of love! (:

    Prayer:
So.....i am currently looking for another job.

I currently work front desk at a hotel...which really is a pretty okay job (i am at work now as i write this. lol). the ONLY bad thing about it...is the stayovers.

i have to come into work at 11pm and "work" until 7am. I am just here in case of emergencies and i sleep here in a manger's relief quarters. Right now i do about 4 stay overs a week....which for right now is perfectly fine......BUT when i am married i know FOR A FACT i will not want to sleep away from my husband. i talked with my manager and there is no way around it.....i will still have to do stay overs....maybe two a week at the least....but i want none. i want every night to be me and my new husband in OUR bed.

so..i have decided to start looking for a job. Preferrably a daytime job involving an office like environment. I applied at a bank today and i am really praying about that. Please pray that God will open up a door for me so that i can have the freedom to be with my husband every night. (:

Prayer- My best friend is having a c-section at 7:30 ET in the morning.  She was induced at 41 weeks with her first, never progressed, and ended up with an emergency c-section 20 hours later, so the doctor convinced them to schedule little Miss Haleigh's birthday. :)  Hoping to have an adorable praise tomorrow!!

    Prayer update-
My aunt still doesn't have a full-time nuse for the kids.  We thought we had one, but when the company was trying to get her "officially" employed, they discovered that she isn't even licensed in the state of Virginia  (you'd think they would try to confirm that earlier in the process, but whatever).

The nurse with them now is...incompetent...to be nice.  Mya's aide goes to church with my family, and when I talked to her on Sunday, she said Mya won't leave De alone with the nurse.  They have to literally carry her to the classroom.

Last week, the nurse was messing with De so much (excessively suctioning his trach, saying his perfectly fine trach needed to be changed in the middle of the preschool classroom) that he became agitated and spiked a fever.  The teacher told her to back off and called the school nurse to come sit with them the rest of the day.  This was after she decided on Monday that De was too sick to go to school, after my aunt had left for work, and she didn't call my aunt to let her know they stayed home.  She didn't know they stayed home until she got home from work at 8 that night and walked in to find Mya (9) eating baby food and the nurse had De laying flat on his back, also feeding him baby food.  Lady is crayzee.

Since De is a foster child, it's up to the state to hire the nurse.  I'm not sure how much say my aunt actually has in the process.  We still don't know if their old nurse will be cleared to come back to work in April, but we're praying hard for that.

Prayers for all of you <3

I have a major praise.  My dad called last night.  The path report on his gall bladder and colon came back - it was 100% cancer free.  He doesn't have, nor did he ever have, cancer.  I'm so glad!

Just on facebook. :)  They won't go home until tomorrow, so mom and I are going by their house next weekend.  Don't want to get in the way of their aunts & uncles visiting (hospital is restricted to immediate family) and them trying to figure out a new normal.  I'll get my snuggles when everyone else tapers off. :)

    Kinda long sorry!

My parents are separated right now because my dad had an affair in December (the month after my engagement). Things seemed to get better until this woman emailed him again 3 weeks ago. It all kinda went downhill from there. Some other things happened and I told my dad I didnt want him to be apart of my wedding and then felt guilty and went back to talk to him. Everything is still kind of awkward but im to the point now to where I can get past this and remember that God has a plan. Its just very frustrating because this is supposed to be the happiest time of my life and it hasnt turned out that way and my family is hurting. I believe God is a God of restoration and healing but that everything will take time. Please pray that no matter the outcome that we can all heal from this.

Prayer: My FI is having a really hard time lately, and it is so hard not to be there in person to help with all of the pain (he has a long medical history, most of which is documented in medical journals). Please prayer for his healing and peace, and a little for me too so I can relax a little.

Praise: I had a great night out with some girl friends last night who are all engaged. We stayed out entirely too late because we started talking about God in our lives and soon to be marriages. It was so uplifting and encouraging.

Praise (2): My nieces (twins born at 32 weeks) are healthy and almost 12lbs each at 4 months! Also, Lia started picking things up and sister Sophia quickly learned that she too can pick things up, particularly whatever Lia is holding, lol. Sisters already!
