Ring Engraving

Hey ladies!

Married or not-yet-married, have you thought about what you will get engraved on your rings?  My FI and I need to decide soon.  I don't think my ring will hold too many characters, but his will hold more.  What did you guys get on yours?

FI and I are not doing engravings.  Mine's not big enough anyway, but we don't think it's worth the extra money.

I want to engrave Fi's before we get married but I'm not sure with what. A few ideas are: his favorite verse or life verse, the wedding date, your initials, or an inside joke you have. If Fi and I ever adopted a bible verse to be our life verse as a couple I would want to do that. Hope that helps :)

Not doing engravings either for costs (and the bands are too thin).

Hm.  It's a lot to decide on.  Right now I think we'll get our date - 7.16.11 and our initials on my ring if it will hold it, and on his, probably the date and our full first names.  "My One and Only" comes to mind as I think about phrases that might go on his ring, and I"m sure he'd love that too, because thats what he calls me in emails / letters / etc.  Hmm....

My engagement ring is engraved Witt "your's forever". FI wedding band was made out of a silver coin so it says in God we trust on the inside. He want to take my wedding band in to get it engraved with in God we trust as well.

I really wanted to get them engraved, but my band is very thing and it can't be engraved. I was disappointed, but FI didn't think it was necessary anyway. Those are all good ideas, though.

FI has "Love never fails" and I have 1 Corinthians 13:8 on mine.

my FI got his dad's ring, and his mom had had their initials and wedding year engraved. since we had to have the ring resized, they took out the engraving, so i'm thinking we'll put theirs back in and then have our initials and year in as well. i'm not sure how much room we'll have after that but i do know that's the plan so far

    what an awesom idea!

To answer op, we aren't getting our band engraved, I never even thought about putting anything on them until I joined TK. My band is teeeny-tiny and there's no room for anything on it anyway. But, if we did put something on them, we'd probably put our wedding date or something like "forever and always."

Still thinking on this one!  Thanks for all of the thoughts you all shared!  My mom's ring has their initials and the date, and my dad's ring had enough for his first name and her first name as well as the date.  I am almost sold on "my one and only 7.16.11" or something like that on the FI's ring, and then "one and only 7.16" on mine, if it will fit.  Gotta see what the jeweler says will work-  we're going this weekend to send his ring in for sizing and to get both of them engraved!! :-)
