Wedding Wednesday QOTD

Did you get the one the style thought you would get?

Those who haven't bought it yet, do you have a style in mind you think you will get?

Re: Wedding Wednesday QOTD

  • Nope, I wanted a big princess gown but they ate me alive. So that didn't happen.
  • I knew i wanted a slim fitting dress with no pouf and not a lot of bedazzlement (spalrkes, ruffles, etc).  i found a vintage lace gown that i liked (i thought it was my grandmas but it actually wasn't...weird story) but now i bought a simple dress similar to pippa middleton's royal wedding dress.  its exactly what i wanted: simple, elegant, slim fitting with a bit of lace (the cap sleeves and the back of the dress are lace).
  • I got what I thought I wanted.  Poof, but no visible tulle.  Train with detail.

  • I went in with photos of dresses I liked visually, but those dresses all looked terrible on me! The one I found was absolutely perfect, though. I think I actually gasped when I saw myself in it for the first time. :)

Yes, I got pretty much what I wanted/envisioned.  I went in not wanting a sweetheart neckline because I thought they were overdone and to "fad"y but it turned out to be more flattering than a straight neckline.

I wanted: satin, ivory, decent train, a waist line in between natural waist and dropped waist (no mermaid!), no crazy bling or crystals.

I desperately wanted a lace bolero with little sleeves for the ceremony but I didn't like any of the ones I tried on and my dream of having one made from my mom's extra fabric didn't pan out as planned.  Also my BMs convinced me it was way too hot for a bolero, and they were right.
  • I didn't really know what I wanted other than cap sleeves. And I got those. :)

  • I got the exact opposite of what I thought I wanted. I wanted a strap, deep v neckline with a slim fit. I ended up with a huge ballgown with a large train and sweetheart neckline. It started as strapless but we were able to add a halter which I loved.

  • I went in thinking I would get a very simple gown, slim fit/trumpet style with very little in the way of "bling." What I ended up falling in love with was a lace and tulle, beaded trumpet style dress. Ultimately, I think it was the best choice, I think pretty much everything else in my wedding was so simple that it made sense that my dress was a little more show-y.
  • I wanted a lil lace... I thought i kinda wanted something more fitted but my mom swore she could see me better in an A line /tea length type dress.. But I did want something classic/a lil retro... So it's a 50's kinda A line and not too puffy but yeah ... I'm to short to pull off just about anything else...

  • With everything I saw in magazines and online, I figured I would get an A line strapless dress but I did want a corest back. I ended up with a V neck, A-Line empire waisted gown with a zp up back. Honestly when I tried on what I liked visuallly, didn't like it but the dress I got was so "me" and so perfect to what I really wanted and didn't even know it yet. Seriously, I would love to have my wedding dress in multiple colors and lengths and where it all the time!

I just got a new computer and I haven't transfered my photos yet but I will post one soon.

  • I was sure I would get an empire waisted dress with short train and tank straps.  Instead I got a strapless a line with longer train.  Ha!
  • I love the full lace dresses, but my mother's isn't and I wanted to wear hers.
I did end up getting what I wanted though because my reception dress is a shorter all lace dress :)
