Hi there, I'm recently engaged, and we are finally starting to finalize details! So I wanted to come and finally introduce myself on this board. I've lurked awhile! Anyway, it's looking like the date will be May 4, 2013. Could possibly change, but hopefully, that is it! So, hi!

Hello! Well, basics.. I'm 28, FI is 31. We've been together a little over a year, will be almost 2 by the time we get married. I have 2 cats, and FI has a dog- which is practically mine now anyway . Some randoms: I am a big Anne of Green Gables and Harry Potter lover, and my FI loves to golf and ride his Harley!

I was a bit of a pre-planner, which I know you aren't supposed to do!! But I would get bored at work and look . So, as of now, I have appointments set up with the chapel, reception restaurant, and photographer, and an email out to the cake baker. Then I just have to make sure we have the pastor, florist, and guitarist. I have names for everything so it's really just making phones calls. It's looking like May 4 will work, but it may change, you never know. But I should remain a May bride no matter what. Next week I'm going to look at dresses as well. And we are doing aqua, red, and orange as our colors! But other than just looking at stuff online, I haven't really done anything yet until next week!

I am part of the Harry Potter generation... (I grew up reading it same age as harry pretty much the whole way through)  SO.... you are my new best friend... lol!  I love harry potter and if I could I would totally get married at hogwarts theme park

Sounds great! I'm also an HP lover and aqua and orange sound great together. I'm not sure about the red but I have trouble visualizing :P I'm sure it'll look great!

And it looks like our wedding date officially will be April 6, 2013. Something with vendors didn't work for May, so April it is! 9 months from tomorrow!!

How we met and proposal copied from my bio!:

D and I met on a blind date at a frozen yogurt shop! A mutual friend thought we should meet, so she gave D my number, we met, hit it off and we started dating. About a year after we started dating, we picked out the ring. I was teasing him one day, saying, I know where it's hidden! He laughed and said no! But then took it out, and left the room with it to hide it in a new spot! I figured I wouldn't see it for awhile. Then, he came back into the room, walked right over to me, got on one knee and asked me to marry him. I was not expecting that; it was great! I of course said yes!

Well, it's April 6 now! 9 months! Though I loved the idea of May the fourth be with you haha. And yah, well I sit in front of a computer all day, and figured, well, at least research stuff so that when I'm engaged I'm not super stressed and can plan things so we can have a slightly shorter engagement! Not like I ever made phone calls or bought stuff or tried on dresses before though, just internet research! But I learned my lesson since I got sick of wedding stuff.. so I don't think I would as much. Oh well!

And yes, I've even been to Prince Edward Island to see the Anne of Green Gables house/museum.. it was awesome I can't wait till the Harry Potter land comes to CA in 2015!

Seriously... I told my mom, I see why they advise against it. Because if you go overboard, you are sick of before you are engaged. So, from experience, I can tell people- don't do it!! Just daydream and leave it at that lol
