my colors are red, black, and white.

my FI picked them...i HATE red. always have. i thought it would grow on me...but it didnt.

and i discovered this website http://www.theperfectpaletteblog.com
and now it has my questioning. i always wanted more color....and i want it even more now!

nothing is ordered (except my invites...but i can return them) and i am worried that if i keep my colors i will be upset that i didnt say anything.

i thought i just hated looking for a FG dress...but i realized i hated trying to find a RED and white flower girl dress.

    i am all confused.

i just never really liked red. like ever!

when i first starting talking about colors i said i did NOT want red, black, and white.... just for me. other weddings can be GORGEOUS. and it is an elegant, classy, timeless color palette. every vendor i have worked with has said so.

but i LLOOOVVEE pink! its my favorite color and i have ALWAYS figured that i would have pink in my weddings colors. and i really dislike red! like alot!

i knew my FI liked those colors so i gave in. my FMIL even said "i thought you didnt want red, black, and white" and i said "i dont...but FI does". but now...i HATE planning cuz i HATE my colors. its like not fun.

trying to choose a red dress for my FG is not fun....it feels like its gonna be the death of me!

lol That makes sense! A girl I know is using pink, black, and white and its adorable!! I really love pink (my fav color switches from red to pink every few months..weird lol) but pink seemed "playful" and we werent really going for that lol
Yeah if it was me then I would change it especially if its sucking the joy out of planning!! lol

it truly truly has taken the joy out of it.

    :(

i need to talk to FI about it.

Girl, you can't hate your wedding colors. I can't imagine a man being completely adamant about colors, so talk to FI and your problem might be resolved really quickly. My colors were a light yellow and grass green, but my favorite color is pink -- DH said no way to pink. While I adored my wedding colors, I was pretty sick of looking at green and yellow everything by the end!

What about adding a fourth color?  Then you could compromise and keep the red, but get another, brighter color in there.  try these google image searches and see what you think:

    Weddings with red and aqua
    Weddings with red and pink
    Weddings with red and lime
    Weddings with red and yellow

i feel sad that i am not a fan of my colors...... it stinks....cuz i dont know what to do.

It would be really easy to turn "red" into "reds", like use a spectrum from red to pink. Your bouquet could be a whole mix of various pinks with a few red roses, get a white FG dress with a pink sash....I think you could add pink really easily and let FI keep his red.

ahh! just looked at your perfect palette and it's beautiful! Since you haven't bought lots of colored things why not go with more of a coral red? Add in a softer pink and your B&W and things will be beautiful.

And don't stress if the invites don't match perfectly...no one is gonna bring it with them and hold it up against the tablecloth to make sure.

Lillies don't worry - I had the same "I hate my colors" moment.

I am doing "wild flowers". Literally like every color of the rainbow will make an appearance somewhere with a base color of purple.

You don't have to change your colors completely, you can just add more in if you like!

I like the palette you posted.  Add pinks and ivories in with your black, white, and red.  A pink flower girl dress would be so pretty!  Downplay the red and black and you should be fine.  Just chat with FI about the changes.

Your wedding colors should be colors that BOTH of you agree on not just one of you. If you don't like them then don't have them. You and your FI need to compromise on a color palette that you both like. You're getting married in August right? You have plenty of time to change your color scheme especially if you haven't ordered invites yet or started too many DIY projects. Your current color scheme reminds me more of a Christmastime or winter wedding. Since you're getting married in August, maybe you should go for a more light and airy color scheme. (not that you have to but maybe that can guide you in a different direction) One of my good friends is getting married in August 2012 and she's trying to decide on her color scheme right now, and she's leaning towards yellow and aqua. If you're still set on pink, you can go through my bios and see my gold and light pink color scheme. Maybe show some pics to your FI for inspiration and see how it all came out.

Bottom line is, if you really don't like these colors then simply don't have them. They'll be in your favorite pictures for the rest of your life, and you should enjoy the colors you guys both pick out. HTH!

Awww don't be sad! I understand how you feel- pink is my fave too! FI had only 1 request for the entire wedding and it was that his guys get to wear blue. So I ditched the pink idea, which was tough, and now I love my colors! But I agree with PP's. There are a lot of options for you to add more colors and just leave a splash of red for him. Talk to him asap and get it worked out. NOTHING about your big day should be negative- so try to fix it now! Smile girl!
