Weight Gain before Gown Fittings

So I have 2 gowns for my wedding day - a beautiful ballgown for the ceremony and for the majority of the reception and a tea lenght gown my mother bought me for the end of the reception/going away outfit (even though we are only going back to the hotel).

I tried both gowns on one month ago and they were a little big.  I lost 30 pounds last year and put 10 back on, but the dresses were still a bit big with the extra 10.  I did not hit my ideal weight but was relieved the gowns fit.

I discovered that alterations at David's Bridal cost a fortune and I would go broke have 2 gowns altered there.  I decided to have a friend (who majored in theater fashion) look at my second gown and decide if she could take it in for me.  When I got to her place last night and tried the gown on, it was a bit snug.  I was really bothered that I had put on a couple pounds.  I then realized that not only am I bloated due to PMS that had eaten dinner before I went to her place.

I have been really stressed lately with work, getting everything done for the wedding and now dealing with the loss of my grandmother, that I realized I had been snacking more than usual.

The dress still looks great on me, but it would have made me feel wonderful to have it taken in.

My fitting at DB is this Thursday and I am now afraid that gown will not fit.  I am also going to have my period 2-3 days before the wedding and will be bloated.

Does anyone else have this problem or I am in the boat alone?

We had to SQUEEZE me into my dress on my wedding day because my boobs had grown due to BCP. Don't stress becuase I'm sure your dress will fit

Cut back on your salt intake before your fitting, that should help. Also, if the fit is off by a couple of pouns, would it make you more comfortable to use Spandex?

get a corset.  On FB search for UK corset of the day... they have sales about 4 times a day for corsets of all types,  https://www.facebook.com/corsetsUK  and then go to their website.  You can get some for decent prices and they ship really fast.

And I'm not talking about the torture devices women used to put themselves into-I'm just talking about something that someone can lace you into that'll sorta compact you-better than spandex, imo.

it just takes a bit of getting used to.  It's also better than having a strapless bra because if you get the right size and tighten the stays at the top, you can get it to really hold the girls in place.

I have a corset from there and I love it.  Underbust corsets will push up the girls so if you're flat chested this might not be a bad thing.  if God's granted you a larger chest, however, you might wanna look for an overbust corset.

It'll also give you the added pleasure of having a realllly nice hourglass figure while wearing it... even if you already have one it improves it!

Thanks ladies.  I will check out spandex and corsets.  I cut salt from my diet a few weeks ago.  I think the fact that I am PMSing is not helping.  Looking at my reflection in the mirror I am visibly larger than I was yesterday.  Gotta love menstural cycles and the toll they take on our bodies.

Something that might help, since you say you're bloated, would be to drink a lot of water and tea (unsweetened) ... It might help you since water would flush out your system and tea is a diuretic, which should help with bloat.

I cut carbonated beverages from my diet a couple of weeks before the wedding.  Not only did it reduce bloating, but I swear I felt so much better.  So much better that I rarely drink anything with carbonation anymore.
