Dress hunting continues this Sunday afternoon!

Alrighty... since I want to have the "I LOVE THIS DRESS" feeling, we're going to probably extend my dress shopping another couple of weeks.  This Sunday afternoon, we're going to Bridal Mart which is about 30 minutes from my home.  This time my mom, MOH, 1 bridesmaid are going with me.  I invited another of the bridesmaids to go with if she can (the one who went with me to David's bridal).

Plan to look at some dresses from Venus Bridals, PC Mary, Da Vinci, Alfred Angelo, maybe Demetrios depending on the price point.

I've heard that Bridal Mart has a giant changing area and to wear comfy / covered undies for trying on dresses.  I don't necessarily need the boutique experience... just a chance to find the right dress at the right price.  Any advice on doing Bridal Mart in a way that helps me to stay in my budget, or under?

I've never been to Bridal Mart so I can't help you there. But I would encourage you to make yourself "feel pretty" before you go.. if that's makeup, or doing your hair nicely or whatever way you feel pretty. For me, when I do my hair and makeup nicely I feel pretty. The first time I went to a bridal salon I didn't do that - and every dress I tried on, I felt so..ehhh. The second time I put makeup on and gave a little more effort, and some of the cheaper dresses even felt gorgeous on me, because of how I was feeling. Just a thought. Have fun!

I've heard that some places that carry multiple designers, basically any place other than a designers store, will sometimes hide who the designer is on a dress. They won't let you know until after you've purchased it because they don't want you to go and find a better price elsewhere. When you know the exact designer and style of a dress, if you love it, shop around for the style and see if you can find it for a better price. They may be the best price, but check around just in case. I actually didn't even follow my own advice because the shop I went to was the only one in even the slightly near vicinity (it was still 1.25 hours away) that carried that designer, which is why I had chosen the store to look at because they carried the designer I loved (Essence of Australia). HAVE FUN! Smile

Wow, didn't think about making myself "look pretty" with make-up and hair.  What a great idea!!  Will definitely try that this week.  I know last time I went I didn't do that and had the "ehhh" feeling you described.  Hmm... must see if that makes a difference!!!

I have never even heard of Bridal Mart!  Around here you either go to David's Bridal, go to one of the upscale boutiques where all of the rich "Old South" money shop, or you hire a seamstress, lol.
