Hi all, I haven't spent a lot of time on the boards planning my wedding, but thought I would at least post reviews of my vendors.
Tina's Nails, Belltown: B+
They were very accomodating and opened the salon a half hour early for my bridal party. The only reason I can't give them an A is because my nail polish began cracking and chipping the day after I got them done. I'm really glad that I decided to go the morning of the wedding, as I'm afraid they would have looked really bad had I gone the day before. My toes, however still look fantastic six days later.
Fairmont Olympic Hotel: B
We were originally going to stay at the Grand Hyatt the night before and the wedding night, but they overbooked for the weekend and we ended up getting bumped. Thankfully the Fairmont had room for both nights. I was disappointed, howerver, when they told me that I would not be allowed to have ANY photos done inside of the hotel because of a wedding they were holding that day. While I understood that "their" bride would have first dibs on the hotel, I was made to feel that I had to sneak out of the hotel to my limo so that my being in my wedding dress wouldn't upset the other bride. I found THAT stance to be rather tacky. Other than that, the stay was nice, though the service wasn't anything special.
British Motor Coach: A-
These guys were fantastic, the driver was ontime and very courteous. My only issue was that they said that their limo seated 8-10 but didn't specify that it really would only seat 8. I had wanted one of our photographers to ride with us, but they weren't able to do so.
C2 Photography: A
I love Charles and Cindy of C2 Photography. They do amazing artistic and candid photos, and are just the nicest people! We obviously don't have our pictures back yet, but they did our engagement pics and they turned out wonderfully. I cannot wait to see all of the moments that they were able to capture at the wedding!
Flowersandfreshness.com: B+
I knew I was rolling the dice a little bit using wholesale online flowers. We ordered roses and gerbera daisies from them, and they arrived on time. I guess I don't know what I was expecting when it came to the roses. They were fairly bruised and we ended up having to remove 3-4 petals from each one. Thankfully, the flowers in general were not all that important to me. The daisies were fantastic, however. From the pictures I've seen, you can't tell that the roses are somewhat bruised, and turned out pretty well. And I saved a LOT of money.
Off White Makeup - Megan Bingham: A+
I cannot say enough how much I loved the way Megan did my makeup. I am a makeup freak, and I had pretty specific thoughts for my wedding makeup. She pulled it off perfectly. To top it all off, she was extremely helpful in getting my tattoos covered and blended almost perfectly to my skin tone. Just amazing.
Tune City DJs - Jason Brown: A+
Jason is AWESOME. He filled the exact roll that we wanted for the wedding, and didn't try to impose his own style or the typical wedding DJ shtick. Of all the DJs that we looked at, his price was one of the most reasonable. Jason is super friendly, and kept the music going the entire night (I've been to weddings where there have been odd silences while they were switching songs). He even surprised us with adding some uplighting to the venue, it was a perfect addition!
Happily Ever After Wedding Planners (Teasha and Shannon): A+
They made the day of so easy, and stress free. I don't know what else to say of them other than that, lol. They were perfect, and set up the venue just as I had envisioned.
Rev. Ray Van Winkle: A
Rev Ray gets a lot of compliments on this board, and my review is no different. He was very professional, and I loved that he led us through the entire ceremony - I didn't have to remember to do anything, haha! He reminded me to hand my flowers to my MOH, used non verbal cues to remind us to look at eachother, he was just perfect! We got comliments form our guests about him, as well.
Mikes Amazing Cakes: A
I didn't actually have time to eat any of the cake, other than when we did the cake cutting, but all the guests said that it was fantastic. The cake was beautiful, and was exactly how we envisioned it.
The Lake Union Cafe: A+
The venue was gorgeous, and Dann, Victoria, and their lead server Laura were all amazing. Dann was awesome and made sure that my drink was filled and that I was eating, haha! After he left Laura was super attentive and made sure that we always had just what we needed. There were no hiccups, nothing went wring, and I know it has everything to do with the professional staff at the Lake Union Cafe. And, the food was DELICIOUS! We did a plated dinner, and all the guests raved about the taste and presentation of the meals.
All in all, our wedding was amazing and was exactly how we wanted it. I can't wait to see the pictures, though because it was mostly a blur, haha! I think the only thing I would have done differently would be to have someone video at least the ceremony. After all the time we spent choosing the perfect music, it would have been nice to see the final product (I forgot that I wouldn't see it, being that I'd be hidden until I walked down the aisle!).
