HAHAHA Oh boy do I ever... lol but I will try to keep it short!

Can someone explain to me why its so crazy difficult to drop a self addressed/stamped envelope in the mail? lol! Our cutoff for RSVPs is today and so we'll start calling on Monday (already talked to a couple friends that forgot) but we have over 100 people outstanding as of this morning, mainly FI's family! I just can't believe how HIGH the rate of people who haven't sent them back are!

Then when I was talking to a friend on facebook yesterday, honestly didn't know if we'd gotten hers or not unless I pulled up the list, we were just talking life in general. She asked how the wedding stuff is going. I said I'm looking forward to getting the seating chart done when RSVPs are in and then I'm literally ready to go. She said the dealine is soon, and I added yep, Wed but we have quite a few to come yet. She replies, and I quote, "I'm one of those people that hasn't sent it yet. I guess you'll just have to wait for us stragglers"... I wrote back something along the lines of even a verbal RSVP is fine, I don't need the cards and she just put lol and went offline.... really? Couldn't you have just said 'Oh ya, I forgot to send mine, we are/aren't going to make it'

Wow... felt good to get that out lol

  • Oh man, I'm dreading the RSVP thing!! Thankfully I'm having a smaller wedding so hopefully it will be easier to track everyone down.

Not too much to vent about as of now! Just mainly money! It's just so depressing to see how much everything costs- and especially all the little detail things that will make my wedding go smoothly. But, other than that, I have so much planned and 8 months left still that I don't feel very stressed at all! I have a lot of time to do my crafty stuff and lose some weight and enjoy being engaged!

what's next on your DIY list?

  • I am already predicting that problem with atleast one person. She was considering sharing a hotel with another friend and that friend messaging me yesterday to see if I heard from her because she couldn't get a reply on whether they are still sharing a room...

I second that question, what's next on the DIY list :)
  • the RSVPS are definetly going to be frustrating.  but i'm not going to track down my missing guests...they will just be turned away at the reception if they don't RSVP but decide to show up.

my frustration is with our pastor!! he decided to resign from the church he pastors (and we are getting married in) and move across the country in a few weeks. he won;t be coming back for our wedding so we need a replacement.  but here's the kicker: i found this out through my mom!!  i waited a few days to call him and he was like "oh yeah i emant to call you".

so now we are stuck beucase we don;t know any other pastors!!  and we NEEDa pastor, not just a justice or something. ARGH
  • I typed out a really long response and TK ate it :/

    Two things.

I highly suggest that you call/text/FB/whatever you need to do to get an idea of how many people are planning to come. I know that chasing down responses doesn't feel like the best use of your time, but you can divide them up. Have your FMIL call people from her family, your mom call people from her family, you call your friends, whatever! I'm not sure how you were planning to turn people away at the reception but I can promise you that you aren't going to want to stand at the door in your dress with a list turning people away. If you have a coordinator or someone you were planning to ask to do that, ask if they would be willing to call people who haven't RSVP'd. If you're organized and have a list, it really isn't as big of a deal as everyone makes it out to be. Stressful, sure. But it is a good use of your precious time.

Second - is there a reason you HAVE TO HAVE a pastor? Googling "wedding officiant" plus your zip code will give you a list of officiants and calling them ASAP is better. Also calling around to area churches, talking to the secretary and explaining your circumstance is also better done sooner rather than later. I'm sorry you're having this stress, but you still have time to find someone! :)

Also having a slight DJ issue....

I start school next week and im afraid my wedding planning time is gonna be cut in half I already had to redirect like 3 things to other people to take care of nothing major but I kept getting asekd to do stuff and i'm like uhh no ? Absolutly cant... It's nutzo latly.

</div><div>I'm guessing if he resigned and is moving cross-country his family has quite a bit on their plate right now. How long did he wait to tell you? If you don't go to the church and aren't close you probably aren't on his first-call list. </div><div>
</div><div>What about the new pastor coming in? Or an associate? Or like Brist said, getting an officiant in your area. My suggestion would be to ask your pastor if he has any friends who you could contact. </div>

  • That stinks!! Hopefully you can find someone new and soon!

My next DIY will be... I'm not even sure lol. Maybe putting together the unity candle, and the card holder? I'm going to make a place card ribbon board as well. So probably those 3 things!
