  • We are going to do a tiny wedding cake (like 2 teirs but extremely small. Just for the cake cutting and then to save for the first anniversary) with cupcakes.

The wedding cake portion will be chocolate with a whipped frosting. Cupcakes will be a mixture.

FI and I both hate cake with a burning passion...

  • Chocolate with bavarian cream, with one layer of vanilla with...raspberry?  I think that's what it was.  My grandma doesn't like chocolate so we did one layer of vanilla cake for her.
  • We had four layers, all pound cake.  Traditional pound, chocolate, lemon, and spice (our top layer).  Buttercream frosting.  The top layer of our cake still tasted great after one year!

  • We had a little bit of white cake, but most of it was chocolate! With buttercream frosting! I am a total chocoholic.

  • I'm not positive, as our cake is a surprise. I know that she knows that Red Velvet is my favourite and Marble is FI's favourite, so those will be included :)
  • after reading the responses, I realized I think I asked this a while ago. sorry for the repeat question....

  • We are having cheesecake. The cake baker is actually going to make a tiered cheesecake that looks like a normal wedding cake and then we'll have a cheesecake bar that people can make their own toppings and things to customize it however they want

But it's always fun to talk about cake!

  • Vanilla almond cake with alternating layers of raspberry and some type of vanilla/almond filling.
  • I could talk about cake all day long.

Rebecca, that cheesecake bar sounds awesome!  And Jenn, our cake tasted great a year later too.  Mmmmm, cake.
  • We had a three-tiered cake where one layer was yellow cake and the other was chocolate with buttercream frosting. The bottom and top layers had chocolate French silk filling, and the middle layer had raspberry filling. It was soooo tasty. I'm so excited to break into the top layer in a few weeks for our first anniversary.
  • 3 tiers - chocolate banana was the base (we didn't cut into it, we ate it for brunch the next day), summer strawberry was the middle (this one was cut at the reception) and double chocolate explosion was the top (in the freezer, we'll eat it for our anniversary this year).

Late night we had hot dogs/sausages and desserts - cookies, fruit, squares, pastries, so not much wedding cake got eaten (as expected).
  • Lemon with strawberry filling.  It was AMAZING. We weren't able to save the top since we had no way of getting it to Kansas, but I'm going to try to make a small one for our anniversary on Monday.
  • Lemon :)
