How did YOU overcome!?

Hey beautiful women of God!!

I have been using TK for all of my planning, but haven't really gone beyond that. I just started seeing the boards this week. I wanted to say hi to all of you and pose a question:

Have any of you experienced the enemy trying to get you off track while you follow God in your growth/marriage preparation? And how did you OVERCOME!?

My FI and I have had a few battles ourselves. We had some people we trusted turn their backs on us and hurt us, but through prayer and His strength we have overcome and things now are better than they would have been before. And, our relationship is stronger in each other and in God because of it. I'd love to hear your stories. :)

Be Blessed.
There's only 1 way 2 say those 3 words and that's what I'll do... I love you Image and video hosting by TinyPic

I'm not sure if I completely understand what you're asking but for me, I know people I thought SURE would RSVP yes to the wedding said no and it bummed me out.  I have a best friend that I've had forever but she recently (the past year or so) has started doing drugs and things and won't come to anything wedding related for me.  It hurts, especially when she told her mom it's because she's jealous of me.  I just keep telling her I love her and trust that if she's suppose to be there, He'll get her there.  It's hard but it's not impossible.  HTH?!  :P

    Welcome to the board!!  :)

The enemy always tries to use people and things to cause you to fall or worse turn from God. DH and I have definately gone through our share of ups and down both collectively and individually. As a couple, I encourage you to pratice communicating, even if the issue is "outsiders" communicate with one another and let each other know how you are feeling.

Situations like the one you listed above about friends turning their backs on you, my dear, this will happen before and after you get married because some people are meant to be in your life for a lifetime and others just for a season. God said He would never leave us nor forsake us and your life partner/FI/soon to be husband is there to share in lifes trials and triumphs.

Prayer is the main focal point but I cannot emphasize being open with one another and not leaving the other guessing as to how you are feeling.

    Many blessings and happy planning!

FI and I had to deal at first with financial issues, but God gave us both a great job.  So I guess He helped us overcome that.  :)
