Who's Getting RSVPs?

A lot of you ladies are getting married really soon.  YAY!  So I am wondering if any of you have started getting your RSVPs back yet.  Any surprises yet?  Disappointments?

I remember thinking how cool it was that some people wrote personal notes on the RSVP card (we did postcards) saying how excited they were that we were getting married and they couldn't wait to be there with us.  I decided that in the future, I'm going to put a personal note on all RSVPs.

I have been receiving them.  No personal notes unfortunately, but my biggest surprise came today.  I got an RSPV from someone whose name I didn't recognize, and I was freaking out that my mom was sending out invites to people without my knowledge (because we invited 40 people over capacity).... or perhaps a stranger RSPVed.  It ended up being a real guest, but I addressed to a Mr. and Mrs. Wheeler.  I think that was the maiden name of the guest who goes by that name professionally, but she and her husband have a different name socially.  These are my mom's friends, and she didn't even know that.

If I can finish invitations by Friday or Saturday, I should be getting some RSVPs in the next week or so.

I'm *this* close to making a facebook event...if only we hadn't bought all those stamps...

The invitations are still being designed. My wedding isn't until July 8th, so we still have 3 months. I will probably try to send them out in the first few weeks of May.

Lisa, I never heard of writing personal notes on RSVP cards, but that is a great idea! I would love it if someone did that for me!

yep! I have about 1/3rd of mine back.  Most are not surprises.  FI was in the Corp at A&M and a lot of his buddies are in the millitary now so we are always happy when we see they are able to come.   The first day I got them (I was out of town for a month and they got sent out in that time) I have a like 40 to open.  It was a little much, but I like the few a day thing.  Always something to look forward too :-)

The notes are the best! I too, am going to write on all mine from now on :o)

We're having the RSVP's sent to FI's mom. I know she'll do a good job at keeping me updated and I'll be crazy busy, but it's not the same as me receiving them. :(

I haven't sent invitations out yet, but I will in the next week.

I love the personal notes! I wish more people did that, and I definitely will :) Funny how it means so much but you dont think to do that same for someone else sometimes.

We aren't at the point of mailing the invitations out yet (July 16), but I can't wait until we start getting our postcard RSVP's in the mail!!!

I almost always write a personal note on an RSVP - many of them are the fold-card design, so I usually tuck in a check for $20 and write a note about how excited I am to come to their wedding, etc... I guess the $$ gift is more or less a "I hope this helps" because I know that weddings are expensive!! :-)
July 16, Our Wedding Day, is also International Juggling Day!

I've gotten a lot back, and only one surprised me saying no (which is my grandma but I can understand that).  Another surprised me because I didn't think she'd come but she said yes - and added 3 other people I've never even heard of, and FI has met like once.  UGH!!  But it'll all work out.  :P
