We're back at his parents' house in Maryland.  Our flight out of Kansas City was delayed about an hour because of snow there, and the ride to the airport made me thankful for 4WD, so we're glad to be relaxing now.

The elders and deacons were supposed to have a meeting tonight (depending on what the weather did today) to vote on whether to recommend his employment to the church or not.  The pastor drove us to the airport today and said he would recommend that the elders and deacons do that.  If they vote positively, then it will be brought before the church members on Sunday and they will vote then.  He needs a 75% majority to be offered the job.

We're grateful that we have a week to process the weekend and pray about what God wants us to do and not feel the pressure of having to accept or decline quickly.  We both feel the weekend went incredibly well, and we even saw a few apartments that would be perfect.

Have to admit, it was soooooo weird looking at places for "us" to live...as a married couple.  And then we discussed buying a washer & dryer for one of the places if we move in there.   It was definitely one of those, "When did we grow up?" moments...

Wow, sounds like a great trip!  It does feel weird to have that "when did we grow up" moment, my FI and I had that moment a month or so ago... it was a little weird.

Well, anticipating that they offer the job... definitely a lot to pray about if the FI and you both feel like it is the place to go.  If he decides to take it, how far will you be from him until the wedding?  Would you move temporarily closer?  I don't know if I could do long-distance from my FI especially within 6 months of the wedding, but sometimes that's what is necessary!

Thanks for updating us, I know I was very curious... I bet others were too.

I wouldn't move out there until after the honeymoon.  He would go ASAP but I still have a semester of school left.  I'll be done May 14th, so I would just go home and get everything else ready for the wedding.  The youth group is supposed to go on a mission trip to Haiti May 30-June 8, so FI would be getting back right in time.

I might take a trip out there with my parents to move a few things out, but I wouldn't relocate until we're married.  It will be difficult, but we know this would really solve any temptation issue we would run into in our relationship, and after 5 months, we'll be together forever.

We're both remaining optimistic about this, and we both know that the scariest place to be is outside of God's will.

Sounds like God is working out the timing for you to keep this experience good for both of you.  I'm hoping for the right news from the deacons/elders and congregational vote, but I know from personal experience... especially here lately (!) that if God has something else in mind, he'll make that clear to you by taking away an opportunity that you thought you had.  Still though, I hope he gets it!! :-)
