Wedding re-cap (long)

Here we go :)

The rehearsal and the dinner afterwards were great. I got a little more stressed out during the rehearsal because no one knew what they were doing and people kept bugging me to make decisions. I'll get to that more later. FMIL hosted the dinner at her house afterwards and it was really nice! So glad we were able to do that.

I had a little bit of trouble falling asleep the night before, and ended up taking a natural sleep aid around 1 AM. I was the only one getting my hair done in the morning and that was really ncie. It gave me a chance to relax a little bit and calm my nerves.

Got to the hangar an hour and a half before the ceremony started. I thought this was too much time, but it turned out to be okay. I was able to watch guests come in from the window once I was ready. They coudln't see me, but I could see them. It made me really excited. :)

The ceremony went soo unbelievably fast. No one cried walking me down the aisle. I joked that if H and my grandpa (who was our officiant) were crying, I was looking at BIL so he better not cry! I cried walking out. H and I were able to sneak into an office and have a few moments to ourselves. The reception was shorter than I had planned, but that ended up being okay.

My planner was amazing. I don't think it could have gone as smoothly as it did without her. She kept things moving, got people organized, etc. I'm so glad we had her!

Some funny stuff:
During the ceremony, H forgot to get the rings from BIL (who was the best man) before we started vows. :P

One of the little girls from church was following me around and before we made our exit she gave us this advice, "Have a good life. Oh, and don't argue."

Another little boy said, "You might have children!"

A little bit of advice:
Designate someone else to deal with the last minute phone calls, text messages, Facebook messages, etc. I made the mistake of trying to handle it through Wednesday and it just became too much. I handed my phone off to H and he dealt with it from then on.

Do not get stressed out at the rehearsal. Haha. I was so worried that no one knew what to do and we were still trying to figure things out. It all ended up okay. I'm married and that's all the matters.

Take some time, just you and H after the ceremony. Even if you did a first look, even if you feel like it will mess up your timeline. Do it.

Don't do what we did for pictures. Our photographer insisted that we take pictures on a back wall of the hangar. That meant everyone could see us. And see us they did! It was really annoying to have a crowd of 100 watching us take all of our pictures.

I'm glad to be back!! Trying to catch up on everything that's happened. :) Missed you all!

Fantastic! We were so tired, though. I think we slept 12+ hours every single night.

Awesome!  It sounds wonderful.  I love your advice.  I'm older and have been in lots of weddings so the rehearsal was a piece of cake for me.  But if you haven't been through it before, it is a good suggestion to just relax - it will all work out.  I totally agree with you on having time with your new husband just after the ceremony.  We did that and I am so glad we did.  So, how did you respond to the comment about children?  That's too funny.  You might hear that a lot now.

<div>I know how you feel with the rehearsal! I was definitely Clueless McGee. I trusted my aunt (officiant) with most decisions. So nice that you and your hubby got to sneak off by yourself a bit :)  I don't think we did that. I barely got to sneak away to pee! Good advice about delegating your phone to someone. Although I did that and still had to deal with some people! I don't think it's possible not to. I was flipping out tho cuz the limo people weren't making any sense. Glad that you could laugh at some things! I made a post after our wedding called <a href="http://forums.theknot.com/Sites/theknot/Pages/Main.aspx/wedding-boards_wedding-recap-withdrawal_were-funny-wedding-fails">"What were your FUNNY wedding fails?"</a></div><div>
