Big day is March 7!

Okay, not the wedding date, don't get confused... haha!!  That HUGE day is still July 16.  :-)

This "big day" is the day I'll officially begin working at my new job, with full-time pay, health coverage, and retirement credit!  My last day of working 60% with no health coverage / no retirement credit will be March 4 (Friday).  It will be nice to start fresh with the "new" students in a "new" school on a Monday!

BTW, for those who are new or haven't read my posts about my job issues, I'm a music teacher and currently teaching MS chorus 60%.  The new job is a MS chorus and general music job and it's full-time, WOOOOT!

God TRULY lavishes his blessings upon us.  The blessing I JUST found out about is that I will have a carpool buddy for the almost 1-hour commute!  It's going to be amazing to save $$ on gas for the 50+ minute drive, for BOTH of us.  It might not sound like much to some, but I know God has a plan and a future for me, plans to help me, not to hurt me, to give me hope and a future.  It's hard to recognize it sometimes, but Jeremiah 29:11 really can come to life in our circumstances, and God shows us where he wants us to go, even if it's not on "my" schedule.

Praise the Lord!!!!   He comes through, faithfully.  Even when I thought I was at my lowest point, I got lower, and God carried me.  When I am at my highest point, God shows me how He is working to bless me and I cannot praise Him enough.

"I Bowed On My Knees And Cried Holy" is the song I'm playing now:

Yayyyyy! I am so excited for your new job and these great opportunities! God IS good and He has placed you exactly where He wants you. The carpool thing is awesome, too. Be sure to let us know how your first day goes!

LOL the first day will be ... well, no expectations, but I always pledge to have fun teaching, because if I'm not having fun, there's no way the students will.  So, that is always my daily teaching challenge!! :-)

Dumb question first - how are you making the switch in the middle of the school year?

Anyway, congrats on the new job; that sounds fantastic!  Is this a permanent position, and will you be closer/have a shorter commute after the wedding?  Also, how fantastic is it that you have a commuting buddy!  I'm so happy for you, K :-)

The new job had someone who resigned in December and they've had subs since then.  So,the opportunity came up on its own, in a way.  I don't know what happened to the other teacher, but when they resign in the middle of the school year, the school systems down here only require 30 days notice, and then they begin searching for a new teacher.

It is a little complicated since I also have to resign my position, and it won't be easy, for sure... but at this point I could have complete control over what lessons are taught by the sub until I get there.  I'm going to provide materials for the sub next week so when I roll in there on March 7 the kids are already somewhat prepped!! :-)
