First Dance Song

Hey everyone!! We are having a hard time finding a first dance song. I do want it to be something we can slowly dance to, but I don't want anything boring or cheesy. We are pretty young too (I'm 23, he's turning 22) if that helps.

What songs have y'all chosen? :)

No '80's hair band ballads, please. :)

What genre of music are you looking for? We are using "Hold You Up" by Matthew West.

I think some of girls on here are using some type of Christian song (which is what ours is). I have a bunch of those in mind. Or I can think of some non-Christian songs too (pop, R&B, oldies, acoustic, you name it).

We would prefer a christian song but we are open to other suggestions as well. Acoustic rock or maybe some oldies would be fine, but probably no hip-hop or anything like that. We want something sweet... so far. lol

FI is Puerto Rican and we are trying to include a lot of Hispanice traditions in the wedding as well as the Italian stuff.... Our first dance song is My Baby You by Marc Anthony. Not a Christian song- but the lyrics are beautiful and he is a Spanish artist :)
There's only 1 way 2 say those 3 words and that's what I'll do... I love you Image and video hosting by TinyPic

We are cheeseballs and MAY dance to Taylor Swifts' "Mary's Song". It is about a couple who grew up together and fell in love, got married, etc. It's pretty much our life in a song AND it even has our age difference right, haha.

We are dancing to Lady Antebellum's "When you got a good thing" I tear up every time I hear this song. Knew it was our first dance the first time I heard it.

We're using Rod Stewart's "Have I Told You Lately That I Love  You"  but if we had gone with our second choice, we'd be using Chicago's "Colour My World"

Fun songs and they both have meaning for us.  :-)  Plus it makes FI cry, and he's not that much of a crying kind of guy .... lol!!! :-)

we're probably going elvis, but not sure which one yet.  too many good choices!

"beginner's luck" could be a really, really sweet elvis song for you two.  the lyrics are sweet esp. as you're in your early 20s, your parents' generation/older family might get a kick out of a classic song, the tempo is perfect and it's not too long.

    my other faves are:
*feels like home - ABSOLUTELY the randy newman version.  randy newman is amazing.
    *always - billie holiday
*pretty much anything else by elvis or billie holiday. :)

    happy wedding!

We're dancing to "The Prayer" by Josh Groban & Charlotte Church. The words fit everything so perfectly for us.
"Who died and made you Dagon?" - stackeye210 I'm supposed to be falling for myself...and not falling for just any guy out there in the world.....
