I remember reading in another thread that you and your DH use LadyComp - is this correct? I have yet to meet anyone who uses it. I use it to :) I was just wondering how long you've been using it and what your experience has been so far. I've been using it for 4 cycles.

Hi Joyful!  Sorry to be late in getting back to you.

DH and I were married July 24th of last year.  I started using Lady Com in June, so it's been eight cycles now.

My experience?  Well, erhm, we aren't pregnant!  I love using it and wonder why I don't hear about the product from many others on this board or other places.  DH and I both think it's the greatest thing ever.  Well worth the $484 I think it sells for now.  I love that every morning it tells me what day I am on in my cycle, so it's super effortless to keep track of when I'm expecting my period.  (And now that I'm married and sexually active, I'm so happy to find that my period has come each month!)  I travel a bunch, too, and it's no trouble to bring it with me.  My Lady-Comp has been to Taiwan, Thailand and China since we got married.  Next month, I'll bring it to Cambodia with me.

DH and I are talking about TTC beginning this fall- maybe November, if I go through with running a marathon that's scheduled for early November.

How have you been liking it?  Is it working for you and your H?

Oh, and I'll add that it took the computer about three months to begin to give me reliable readings.  I would have started using it sooner but returned to the States just six weeks before we got married.  Looks like you should already be starting to get good info from it, well before your wedding!

Hey! I'm glad you saw this :) I'm really happy you've had a good experience with it! I use tcoyf software too - and they don't always match up correctly but I know LadyComp is being "safer" with the little red light. I'm really happy I saw you use it because I don't know anyone who actually uses this thing - we bought it based on internet reviews from a lot of research!

Since FH and I have not had sex yet we still have the worry factor that it wouldn't work, but we both love the reputable company it came from and the research we did to go along with it helps us feel really confident!

Thanks for sharing your experience with me, its cool to hear about someone actually using it instead of just reading internet reviews.

    Yay!

We bought it after a like-minded friend gave it her highest recommendation. She's one of the most conscientious and erudite people we know, so when she told us she had done the research and that she and her husband (married three years, no pregnancy yet) have been relying on the product as their main form of contraception, we felt pretty safe taking the plunge and we haven't been disappointed.  I'm now telling every newly engaged friend in my circle that they *must* consider buying this product!

I'm really excited for you and your FI, that you two are waiting.  I know you've heard it before, but I'll say it: It's totally worth it!

Thanks so much!! I have my nervousness about waiting but overall I am so thankful we did.

Out of curiousity and a bit of a personal question ;) what do you guys do during red-light times? We were planning on condoms but don't have any other ideas and I'm curious what you do since we are in similar positions! If you don't feel comfortable answering I don't mind :) I was just curious.

    I don't mind answering.

We use condoms on red (and yellow) light days.  I'm not willing to go on any version of the BCP for multifarious reasons that span from dislike of side effects to the philosophical, and DH has been thoroughly supportive of that.  Condoms are not 100% effective, as some friends of ours discovered last August (this couple returned from adopting an adorable but hyperactive three-year-old from Ukraine just last month, and they are due with their second child next week! Yikes!) but at this point, even if we were to find out we are pregnant next month, we'd still be thrilled and we would make it work, ya know?

And as the good friend and minister who married us told us, condoms might take a little more work to figure out how to use at first but the husband can still receive a lot of pleasure while using them.  DH and I are finding that that is true for us.

I'm sure we could have a fun conversation if I knew you in person :) I have the same school of thought. I know condoms aren't 100% effective, but I know it also depends on how perfect your "use" is and stuff. Thanks again for answering all my questions :) :)

No problem at all.. I realize that we all have real-lives outside of the TK that are higher priority :) and thank you! I was going to say the same thing about yours, that picture is adorable!
