Found out today that our nephew is living with H's other sister and her husband, 4 doors down from his parents. The now have 3 boys and themselves in a 2 bedroom duplex with another one on the way - baby's due in September.
There is a no contact order between MIL and SIL, SIL and Nephew and Nephew and MIL. H has no confidence that his family will follow that though.
We are being given the cold shoulder by his family and have gotten the distinct impression that we are not welcome to come around. H has pretty much washed his hands of his family. He says he just doesn't care anymore, that they won't let him help even when he offers so he's going to let the system take care of it.
I hate that this is happening and that we're powerless in the situation.
