Christian Weddings

One step forward, two steps back

That's kind of how I feel right now......... Wedding planning is just a tad overwhelming at times, but right now it's plans for after the wedding that are giving me headaches!

FI and I are planning to attend a 9 week Bible training in CO during the summer and then move into married student housing at his school back in MO.

We really felt that God was leading us to attend this training, so we went ahead and applied even though we didn't know where we would live. After several months of praying and searching, God gave us a HUGE answer to prayer by providing an affordable place for us to live.

One of the biggest reliefs was that we were told that the place was furnished (we don't have the means to move the little furniture we have all the way to CO and back). But then we found out that the place had no bed.............rather essential. So after a few headaches, we found out that there are two single mattresses in the house and we could shove them together and put a foam pad over the top. Not ideal, but workable.

I kept reminding myself that all the less-than-ideal aspects of our summer plans were only temporary and we would have an apartment of our own to move into after the summer.

This morning FI went to check on the arrangements he had made for a married student housing apartment in the fall. He was informed that since we aren't coming until the fall, we have been bumped to the bottom of the priority list and will be able to get an apartment only if there is anything left.... Trying to find a place to live this fall is about the last thing we need added to our list right now!

Please pray that we would be able to get all this worked out! Also pray that I would trust God. As my brother reminded me, "Our God owns the cattle on a thousand hills, He is perfectly capable of selling a few to get you a bed and an apartment." God is so much bigger than all these problems. Why is it so hard to trust Him?
