Small Groups

H and I just starting getting involved in our church (we've been attending for almost 1 year, but slow at getting involved). Tonight is our second small group meeting with about 7 other couples. We like it so far and it's nice to get to know people in our church as well as learn together with them.

Just thought I'd share since I've kinda been MIA and the board has been pretty quiet lately.

I like my small group - I'm a graduate student, so it's a group specifically for grad students.  FI currently goes to a class at his church, but isn't specifically involved in a small group.  We hope once we're married (and not living an hour+ apart) to find a church that has a small group we can join together.  Our opinions about what we like differ, though - I have no desire to go to his class, I've had enough of that type of learning, and he doesn't seem to understand what small groups actually are.  Another thing for us to compromise on :)

I'm glad you found a group to get involved in, drama, they are such a good thing!

Glad to hear you like it!  I wish we had something like that at our church.  We don't even have 8 couples I don't think (who are <60 years old).

That is awesome! I am glad you have found a group to connect to.

I love the small group we are apart of right now.

I wanted to join a small group and DH was a little hesitant but I persisted and we joined one.  We really like it.  It is nice to have couple friends although everyone else (except 1 couple) has children.  It seems like lately we haven't been able to go much so I've missed it.  It starts again Friday night but we are going to my college town for Homecoming so we'll miss it.

I definitely recommend small groups especially if you are in a big church.  I'm glad you are liking it so far.

Nice! We met a couple who are now our good friends through a Bible study group at church. I wish we had 7 couples though! We need more!

I'm glad it's going well. I've been aching to be part of a small group at church. I'm sooo busy between grad school, my full time internship, and my part time job, I can barely breathe. But I really really wish I had time to be part of a small group at church. Would love the fellowship.

That's great!  FI and I are still involved in the college group at our church (FI is still a student) and we absolutely love it.  Sometimes we feel like we "get more out of" that than we do from "big church."
