Save The Dates!! PIP

It's just not in the budget to get 200 custom magnets made,(unless someone knows of a place that can do them super-inexpensive) so we're thinking about printing these on cardstock (probably something cream or ivory), laminating them, and then gluing on a magnet strip, and hoping it lasts about a year. :)  Has anyone else DIY'd STD's?  Please share!!

Sorry it's so blurry...it seems to be a little better if you click on it to make it bigger, though.  I'm not sure why it did that. :(

sounds like a good idea to me.  Are you a teacher?  do you have access to a laminator?  If not, maybe contact paper???  You can get the magnetic strip that already has adhesive...sounds easy and cute.  We did ours as picture cards on shutterfly.com.  they were extra budget friendly because they were on sale...and my sis paid for them!

I'm not a teacher YET, but I will be about a month before the wedding!! :)  But, to actually answer your question <img src="http://cdn.cl9.vanillaforums.com/downloaded/ver1.0/content/scripts/tinymce/plugins/emotions/images/smiley-smile.gif" border="0" alt="Smile" title="Smile" />, yes, we do have access to a laminator that we can use for personal stuff.  I'll check out shutterfly, too.  Thanks!!

I got magnets printed from vistaprint for my Save-the-Dates (PIB) - to give you an idea on the price, for 100 magnets, 100 cards, and 100 envelopes, it was $100.

    Your design is very cute!!

Good luck, and as a teacher good luck finding a job once you graduate!  I am an out of work teacher, having graduated in 2008, and work graveyard for a social work organization rather than teaching, beacuse subbing was not paying my bills.  I hope you have better luck finding a job than I have, and good luck with the weddings. blessings!

Thanks!  I'm a little nervous about that as well, especially since I can't start looking for a job until FI finds a youth pastor position, and that will be wherever God calls him...but I'll graduate with a K-12 Special Ed license and a K-5 Elem Ed license, and I've heard that many districts are still hiring Special Ed, so I might be ok.  Actually, I know I'll be ok, because God is in control...sometimes that whole total surrender thing seems ridiculous in our "gotta have it my way" society, but finally realizing that His plan is best (even thought we might not know what that is) is one of the most freeing things...

Thanks for all of the feedback and advice!  FI and I checked out vistaprint, and sent the pic below to my parents.  They loved the layout (and the price), and we're ordering them soon so we can send them out in June.  Thanks again!!!!!  Hope you all have a wonderful day!

We bought blank magnet papers. 2pagers of A4 cost 4dollars and printed on them at home. We only put our logo, names and wedding dates on it. We had 3x5cm card where we wrote our wedding page address and a small poem we made up:)
