Yesterday I dropped FI off in our hometown before heading back to the town I go to school in and I picked up a friend's roommate and brought her back here. She's an international student from China. Very, very sweet girl.
We were chattering, making small talk when we passed a cemetery on the side of the road. I asked about burial customs in China and she explained some of them and she shared what most Chinese believe about the after life. She told me that she doesn't believe anything happens to people after they die; that they die and that's the end of their life. Then she asked me what I thought about the "after life." I explained what I believed and was able to share Christ with her.
I'm so glad I got to share Christ with her. She was open and very thoughtful about the things I was saying. She was shocked that she can pray and God actually listens to her! She said she'd like to learn more about Jesus and would like to read the Bible. I'm planning on giving her a Bible in Chinese so she can really understand what's being said.
Please pray for me, my friend who is her roommate, and everyone else around her who is trying to minister her. My heart is overwhelmed with sadness that she's living life thinking that there's nothing for her after she dies. I would love to see her come to Christ and have the kind of hope and faith that I'm privileged to have!
