In all of my stressing out and last minute planning I forgot to get my act together to have something old, something new, something borrowed and something blue.  The morning of the wedding I realized it and so I decided my dress was my something new and I had borrowed a handkerchief from my Grandma (which was old and borrowed) so I was only missing something blue.

Right now, I have blue and old (garter), and everything else is new. Can't think of anything borrowed...

Old - ring from my grandfather (I've worn it every day for years)
New - wedding dress and jewelry
Borrowed - ring bearer pillow (from my SIL - her sons were our ring bearers)
    Blue - undergarments

    I didn't have a penny in my shoe - it wouldn't have stayed with open-toed sandals. ;)

Old - lace from Belgium that my mom and dad bought when I was born - it's being sewn on to my veil.

New - the dress, shoes, earrings...

Borrowed - probably my mom's pearl necklace (still working on this one)

Blue - I got my garter set on Etsy and asked the seller to put blue ribbon on it instead of the white ribbon that she had on the trim.  It's the right amount of blue for sure.  I may wear blue undies too, just for the fun of it!

I'm not terribly superstitious, so if I miss the "borrowed" category, that's okay too.  Borrowing my mom's brain as we plan this wedding has been pretty special for me.

    Old - No idea.
    New - Dress, jewelry, undergarments....
    Borrowed - No idea.
Blue - Sash on dress, crinoline, detail on boots, garter, jewelry.

I'm hoping I can borrow something old from my grandma but I don't know what.  :P

    Old and blue - underwear
New - hose, garter, shoes (and of course dress but I've read that doesn't count)
    Borrowed - great-grandmother's engagement ring.

The ring was really special because my great-grandma died one hour before I was born.  The family story has always been that she had to die to make room for me in the world, and my grandma always said that day was both the happiest and saddest day of her life - she became a grandma but lost her own mother.  I grew up knowing all about my great-grandma and seeing her ring when I tried on the things in my grandma's jewelry box.  I'd been in love with that ring since I was little and my grandma gave it to me for my wedding.

    Old:  Great grandmother's engagement ring
New: not sure yet other than the dress and shoes
    Borrowed: Probably mom's jewelry
    Blue: Garter and purse

Also I have heard of women hot glueing a penny to the inside part of the heel so that it is  there but more discrete.

    i love it all!

i adore the tradition of old, new, borrowed, blue. i even looked it all up online to see what everything really meant. lol. cuz i am dork like that.
    this is what i found:

Each item in this poem represents a good-luck token for the bride. If she carries all of them on her wedding day, her marriage will be happy. "Something old" symbolizes continuity with the bride's family and the past. "Something new" means optimism and hope for the bride's new life ahead. "Something borrowed" is usually an item from a happily married friend or family member, whose good fortune in marriage is supposed to carry over to the new bride. The borrowed item also reminds the bride that she can depend on her friends and family. As for the colorful item, blue has been connected to weddings for centuries. In ancient Rome, brides wore blue to symbolize love, modesty, and fidelity. Christianity has long dressed the Virgin Mary in blue, so purity was associated with the color. Before the late 19th century, blue was a popular color for wedding gowns, as evidenced in proverbs like, "Marry in blue, lover be true."And finally, a silver sixpence in the bride's shoe represents wealth and financial security. It may date back to a Scottish custom of a groom putting a silver coin under his foot for good luck. For optimum fortune, the sixpence should be in the left shoe. These days, a dime or a copper penny is sometimes substituted, and many companies sell keepsake sixpences for weddings. anyways here is my list:old - either a handkerchief of my gma's or some jewlerynew - my dressborrowed - i think a bracelet from a friendblue - undies and i think i am going to paint my toenails blue. (:

My shoes are blue (teal)...I know I will wear them so much more than white shoes!
New...probably my dress, although everything is new.

Old! I just got today. My aunt mailed me my grandmother's pearl bracelet that my grandfather gave her for their 24th anniversary (I'm named after her and she died when my dad was 16). It was so perfect because I wanted to use something of her's, but really only had room for a bracelet (already had other jewelry), and I didn't even mention it to my aunt.

I think my mom is trying to find her six pence for me to borrow.

Old - My mother's pearls, given to be by my dad after she passed away. Her veil found at my grandparents house and  my engagement ring which was my FMIL's
New - my dress, shoes, etc.
Blue - the stitching in my garter. My aunt is making it out of lace from my mom's head piece

Borrowed ? - still not sure. I like the idea of borrowing something from a happily married couple, but I dont know what
