I would like to introduce...

...the newest Starbucks barista!!! YAY! I got the job! And the best part is they are 100% okay with my Christmas travel arrangements and it had no influence on whether or not I got the job! It was a rather interesting experience though...firstly I went to the wrong Starbucks, 30 minutes away from the one I was supposed to be at. I got to the wrong one 15 minutes early, checked the location, realized I was wrong, and started booking it across town. I was freaking out and called to tell them the situation and they said that was fine. Then on the way I encountered an accident that was thoroughly holding up traffic...but I said a little prayer because it was an injury accident (and I couldn't help but wonder if I had gone to the right store would I have possibly been IN the accident...?) Then I finally got to the right store 30 minutes late. ARGH! Anyway...it didn't matter! Things went great, 10 minute interview and they offered the job on the spot! Super excited! Also, I didn't even realize I had applied for shift supervisor, but they are starting me as barista and then possibly moving up to supervisor! Great thing is that when I have my weekly schedules I can still substitute on days I'm not working because subs can pick up jobs as they want them (and I have my final training to get into the system tomorrow morning). So I went from sort of having one job (very part time subbing at the preschool) to having a full time job and two part time jobs! God is good.

...I mark today as the turning point. Thank you Jesus!!!!

Congrats!  That's super exciting news!  So you're a full time barista, a part-time preschool sub, and a part-time school sub?  Good luck.  ;-)  The good news is, you pretty much get to set your own schedule.  Are you going to get benefits at Starbucks?

Yes! As far as I'm aware, Starbucks offers benefits for employees that work 20 or more hours a week. I had originally looked into it for part time work when I was a nanny so I didn't have to pay for health insurance myself, but I couldn't work the required hours. We didn't discuss that in the interview so I don't now if economic changes have possibly changed it, but when I mentioned it as a reason for wanting to work at Starbucks to a friend of mine who is a manger she didn't say it was otherwise. I am super excited!!! I really hope I get the early shirts...that way I will still have evenings open and I could even do afternoon subbings (since teachers often leave early for appointments and stuff). YAY!

    awesome!

Now you can pray for ME to find a part-time job in addition to my 60% job at the school... thinking it may not change.  I want to start right after the holidays... if there are any jobs left!
July 16, Our Wedding Day, is also International Juggling Day!

Yayyyy! I knew that it would all work out for you! I LOVE Starbucks! Skinny Cinnamon Dolce Lattes and Caramel Frappuccino Lites are my go-to drinks there. Too bad you don't live near Pittsburgh, or you could make my drinks for me! I am so happy for you!

kelly- I will say a prayer for you to find that part-time job!

Mmmmm I am loving all the mentioning of their drinks...! I bought my first peppermint mocha of the season on Black Friday (I was holding out since its way cheaper to make coffee in my kitchen...shhh don't tell them that!) and that was the day they called me for an interview!!! Accident? I think not! :-P I got my second one today free when I accepted the job. HOORAY!!!!!

Kelly...I will be praying! Right after the holidays they will probably hire people who worked seasonally for more permanent positions, but if you get your name in to places and then start calling a week or so into January that could help!

Rachel - Addison Road was on my radio station and Jenny (lead singer) was saying that they all worked for Starbucks as baristas when they were getting started.  They mentioned that part-time employees get benefits.  I thought of you!  I guess it's not so bad to pay $5 for a cup of coffee when you know that it is a good company that pays benefits (something that is rare these days!).

Congratulations! I know how excited/happy with how God provides! My FI was in the same boat and was hired as an assistant manager with virtually no previous experience! It is funny how God knows exactly what we need and when...
