I was asked by Joe'sgurl to share a while ago, but I've been busy getting moved and settling in to DH's house, so this is the first time I've had long enough to write out a nice complete post.
Our wedding day was absolutely wonderful - and we were blessed to have everything run just about as planned.
We started the day getting ready at my church. Well, actually, the girls had been working on hair and makeup at my place beforehand, but we all got dressed at the church.

After getting ready, DH and I went with our wedding party (minus the ring bearers) to do our First Look and some formal pictures at the reception site.

We headed back to the church for the ceremony, which everyone said was beautiful. We were nervous, but of course excited.
Some highlights:
- The younger of our two ring bearers didn't quite remember what to do, so he stood on the stage looking adorable for the camera.
- My father got teary-eyed during the ceremony - something my mom has not seen in the 36+ years she has known him. :')
- Our honor attendant sang a beautiful song while we shared communion as our first act as a married couple.
- We were able to get all five of our former and current pastors involved in the service.
- Everyone rocked their way down the aisle behind us! I loved how they let their personalities shine though.

After the ceremony we took a few more formal photos at the church and then headed to the reception site for dinner, dancing, and cake. We chose to do both parent dances at the same time, which I'm so glad of, because it meant niether of us had all the attention on ourselves. We didn't do the traditional garter or bouquet toss. Instead I gifted my bouquet to my grandparents to celebrate their marriage being the longest in either of our families, 64 years.
The toasts done by our best man and matron of honor were both funny and sweet, and demonstrated how well matched DH and I really are. Everyone seemed to really enjoy themselves, which is exactly what we wanted. And DH was so great - for our last dance we had chosen a Michael Buble song that we could swing dance to, and I felt like dancing latin instead, and he just rolled right with it, in spite of not knowing the cha cha very well!

Overall, I could not have asked for a better wedding day!
