Hello, ladies.  I've been lurking around this board for a while...I usually post over on Not Engaged Yet, but I've been reading all of your posts and have been so encouraged, so I thought I'd join you.

BF and I met in college when I was a freshman and he was a junior (spring of 2004, so we've been together for a while!); I have a degree in history and he has a degree in guitar performance.  Now, I'm a PhD student and he's a photographer.  We're talking about getting married next summer, and we're starting to look at rings (!)

About me...I'm 24, I have a dog named Smudge (she's pretty much like my baby and is spoiled rotten), I go to school full-time and am currently job-hunting after losing one of my part-time teaching jobs at the end of last semester.  I go to the same PCUSA church that I grew up in.  Mom's our director of music, so I sing in the choir and help with worship planning, and I'm an elder.  I'm blessed with a wonderful church family, but we're currently without a pastor and so are struggling there a bit.  

I look forward to getting to know you all!

FaithCaitlin:  I'm working on a PhD in history...I do U.S. Religious Studies as my major field, and I also have a field in Middle East.  Basically, I'm an enormous nerd.  

Smudge actually came with her name--I got her from a friend's mom when they decided to doggie-downsize (they had 5!!).  She's so-named because she's an excited pooper.  Some dogs pee when they get nervous...mine poops.

Even with that, she's still adorable:

The ring hunt is not very exciting, actually...BF admitted that he's pretty much clueless, and the one time we actually went to a brick and mortar store turned out disastrous (I'm an "immediate gratification" sort of person and really have to work on my patience...he is a "delayed gratification" person, so we conflict sometimes).  I get to choose exactly what I'd like, so I built something I liked on Blue Nile and e-mailed it to him.  It's a half-carat cushion cut solitaire, so we'll see where he goes with that info!

Welcome to the board!

Brief intro - I am a music teacher, specialty in band and chorus, and currently finishing my 4th year in teaching.  My current school is one I started in March to go full-time, and it pretty much is going to be in for 3 months and then back out because I'm job searching and determined not to be there again for next school year!  My FI and I are getting married July 16th (SO close!!!) and we're super excited about what God holds next for us.  :-)

Welcome!  I totally agree with Little Big O this is the best board out there.  As you can see from the posts the ladies on this board support eachother in all different areas of our lives.  I use to be a knottie who visted tons of boards but I find myself spending most of my time on the christian Wedding board because these ladies are so awsome and encouraging.

Welcome to the board!! Good luck with the E-ring! My FI wouldn't give me even a glance to tell him what I liked. He saw it as a gift from him and something that its his job to choose (He did an amazing job btw, but I never doubted it)

Welcome!  Your dog is so cute!  My parents dog used to poop when she was nervous too.  We couldn't even take her for a walk in the neighborhood because she would try to go everywhere and it was such a pain.  She's gone now and I miss her.

About me - I got married in October 2009 so I'm an old married lady now.  I like this board and the ladies here.  We got married in upstate NY and the fall colors were so beautiful when we got married.  DH lived up there until our wedding day and I lived in Maryland so we were long distance for our entire relationship.  DH picked out my engagement ring by himself and surprised me with it.  He did a great job!  

Good luck with your planning and definitely keep us posted when he pops the question!!

Welcome!

I'm a teacher (there's a lot of us on this board it seems).  I teach middle school theatre.  H and I were married December 2002.  Pretty much I have no life so I'm still here ;-)
