AW: First premarital counseling session

Today FI and I went to our first premarital counseling session with Pastor Mike.  Pastor Mike is the associate pastor at our church, but he is NOT our officiant.  Our officiant is actually unmarried, lol.  So Pastor Mike offered to take over with the counseling.  It was pretty neat.  We got to know each other, and he told us that we would need to get For Men Only and For Women Only and read them.  He also gave us Foccus personality assessments (to be returned to him ASAP) and a homework sheet with 5 questions.  We are supposed to read the books (throughout the course of the six sessions), take the assessments, and answer the homework questions separately, then discuss them together with Pastor Mike at our next session.  I am looking forward to it!

We did something very similar with answering questions privately and then discussing them with our pastor. I loved our counseling! Enjoy every minute of it!! (I'm actually kinda sad we graduated, but happy cause that means we can get married now)

awh... i LOVE my premarital mentoring!!!! (: we have ours once a week for 12 weeks. very intense! lol. we are working through the book - Saving Your Marriage Before it Starts and it is AMAZING!!!! (:
