How did/will you spend your 1st anniversary?

Ours is coming in a few weeks, May 29.  It coincides a bit with my husband's graduation from Harvard Business School, so the inlaws will be in town and we plan to celebrate (my husband, for various reasons beyond his control, has never been to his own graduation from high school or college, so we have to celebrate properly this time!)  We're then departing on a trip with the inlaws to go to NYC -- they are coming from Brazil, so it will be a new experience for them.  So it won't be a lot of husband-and-me time, but at least we'll be doing fun stuff with family.

Depending on how appointment scheduling works out, we might find out if Peanut is a boy or a girl on our anniversary (June 11th).  June is going to be crazy for us, so we might not get to really do anything "biggish," but we're going on vacation with my family in mid-July and we'll probably go out to one of the nicer restaurants just the two of us.

Our first anniversary lands on DH's first day working in the neonatal ICU.  The weekend before we're going to Myrtle Beach.

I'm still working on gift ideas.  It's a paper anniversary.  I'm thinking about making him a coupon book.  Maybe a range of things from "pick up DH's dry cleaning" to sexual favors.

Probably with Honeymoon 2.0! We may visit Walt Disney World (where we are getting married) or go whever we go for our honeymoon (FI is planning it and it's a surprised!)

DH and I are currently building a house that is supposed to be finished in mid-to-late August, so when our first anniversary comes in November we'll probably still be broke and hardly be settled in the house.  We might take a couple days of for a long weekend "staycation" or we might do nothing, haha.

A few weeks before our first anniversary we will be going to Hawaii, so I bet that we will go out to dinner for it. We also get a complementary stay at a suite in the hotel where we got married. I'm super stoked for our weding cake too!

If we aren't able to fund a honeymoon after the wedding, then we will go for our one year anniversary. We'd really like to go to San Diego

H bought me tickets to see Simon and Garfunkel for our one year, and I booked us a place at the beach for three nights.  Both were amazing.

We're coming up on 10 years (didn't we JUST celebrate 9?!) and H is planning something.  All I know is it's a weekend somewhere at the beach and it sounds like it's going to be someplace fancy.  I'm stoked.
