**kellya**

I saw your prayer request. I have a message for you:

Don't give up on the school and the kids. Kids like that need good people like you in their lives. As tough as it is, maybe God placed you there to be a light shining in their lives. I'm a teacher too, and I'm sure you know that sometimes we are all some kids have. I have had students with little or no support at home and, as hard as it is, sometimes we have to be there for them because no one else will be. Keep you head up! I will pray. Also, when you are feeling down, watch Freedom Writers- it is such an inspirational movie to me- and it's a true story!

Kellya, I'm also praying for you. When I was teaching, I jumped from school to school for a few years, trying to find a good fit. In the process, I found out that teaching wasn't what I really enjoyed doing. Instead I discovered a love for administration that resulted in a couple of really great jobs. :)

I know how tough kids can be (I lasted until Thanksgiving my last year - my class of third graders went through at least three teachers that year), but Ash is right....you are a bright spot for some of those kids, and certainly the positive influence they need. It's so draining to come home and cry in the evenings, but remember your FI is there to support you.

I guess what I'm saying is, if teaching music is what you really want to do (and it sounds like you're very passionate about it), you'll find a position that is right for you. And if God closes a door here, He'll open a window somewhere else.

You are in my thoughts and prayers BIG TIME!

Oh, Kelly. :( I am so sorry. My heart hurts reading what you wrote...

I don't really have any words of wisdom, but I am praying. Please keep us updated.

Aw, thanks ladies.  I'm going to make it through each day at a time for now.  It's 2 more days this week, and then I get a break.  I'm already feeling sick, ugh!  I am finding that I have to force food into my body because I feel sick just looking at it.  Maybe I can lose some weight, too!!...

The other music teacher at this school experiences the same problems if not worse than I do, and she's been here longer.  It's just sad.  These kids are in their own bubble and its hard to show them what great music exists in the world outside of this little building because we can't take them on field trips (they won't behave), and when we try to bring in guests or even some great CD's or DVD's of the great music outside of their community, they won't listen long enough to let it sink in.

I'm looking for other positions for next school year.  I felt like this would be the biggest regret of my entire life yesterday evening.  I just have to make it, day by day, and just praise God that I have health insurance, a full paycheck, and a classroom to call my own, even if that classroom is filled with children with heavier burdens than most adults, and they take it out on us adults.... :-(

I am so drained right now.  It's a good thing we don't have to do much wedding related stuff for a while... we are at a lull in the planning because almost all of the big stuff is done.  WPlanning might be a nice distraction but I am glad that I don't have to do anything right now.  :-/

Hang in there.  Our God is big and He can work through you in this situation.  Don't give up on these kids - they likely need someone who actually cares about them in their lives.  I will be praying for you that you will make it through each day and that it will get better over time.
