Urgent prayer request!

My friend developed pre-eclampsia at 39 weeks pregnant so they decided to go ahead and induce.  She went in yesterday and as of 5 this evening (Pacific time) she was only 2 cm dilated.  Her blood pressure is going through the roof, she's really uncomfortable and in a lot of pain, and things are not progressing at all like they'd hoped.  If you'd say a quick prayer for her - for wisdom, for pain relief, that things start moving along - I know they'd really appreciate it.

    I will. All I know is she's really irritated and her husband has to keep posting "please, no phone calls or visitors" on facebook.  I want to know who the idiots are that keep calling.  When a woman is in labor, I assume that someone will let me know once there's anything to know.  Leave the poor woman alone!

    The most recent message from her husband:

    No progress. Her BP continues to be a cause for concern. She is not dilating any further, and the baby is not presenting correctly. The labor is not going well and is becoming increasingly complicated. They are giving her until tomorrow morning to go natural. If it does not proceed in that direciton, a c-section is likely.

    Thank you for your prayers.  It's a little scary right now.

    If a woman's in labor - why on EARTH would you call her lol?  Do they think she's going to stop mid-contraction and answer the phone?  *pauses contraction*  "Hello?  Oh hi, Aunt Betsy!!  No I'm ok, just in the middle of a contraction.  We're making it through just pray for me and the baby.  Yep, I love you too.  No, I'm not trying to cut you off I'm just a bit busy right now.  Ok, Aunt Betsy I'll talk to you later.  Ok, bye Aunt Betsy."  *resumes contraction*  Some people.

    Ha!  I know, it's crazy.  Obviously people weren't getting the hint because he had to post THREE TIMES asking that the phone calls stop.

    They stopped the pitocin around midnight so she could get some rest, hoping that would help.  As of midnight she was still at 2 cm.  They both slept about 6 hours and then she was able to eat before they started the pitocin again.  The plan was to break her water this morning and see what happens.  She's feeling a bit better after getting some rest and food.  My gut says this is going to end with a c-section (which is what my gut has been saying since she called to tell me she was being induced).  Baby just isn't ready to budge and no amount of drugs seems to be helping that.

    So, they're on day 3 and the baby will be born today, regardless.

    Thanks for all of your prayers!  Things are moving again, here's the latest from the  soon-to-be dad:

    Water has been broken. Her contractions are becoming stronger, ad she is now dilated to 3. Form here on out, they will be more aggressive in making sure her active labor continues at a normal pace. If all goes well...pray it does...little Hall will make her appearance tonight.

    After 48 hours of labor, she's being prepped for a c-section.  They should have their baby girl soon!
