Donating hair

After I got engaged late July last year I was itching to get my hair cut. I decide I would wait until after the wedding before I got it cut and when I cut it that I would donate the hair. But DH loves my long hair so I decided that I would also wait until my hair was long enough to get it cut but stil be longer. It's been over a month since the wedding my hair is over a foot long from my shoulders. I'm so excited that it's finally long enough to donate but I'm going to miss the longer hair. I'm now starting to look into where I might get my hair cut and I'm excited to get it cut. I will be donating to Patene's Beautiful Lengths because the hair goes to women with cancer.

I donated my hair about a year and a half ago- and now I kinda want my long hair back.... patience. Haha

I've done this twice.  I would grow my hair out really long and then cut it to a high bob.  I don't know that I have the patience to do it again.  I don't like my hair to be much past my sholders.

My hair is getting really long and it needs cut. I'm thinking of donating it. FI loves my hair long and so do I so I'm a bit nervous to chop it.

Any idea what the donation length requirement is?

For Pantenne, 8 inches. My hair is 4 inchs from my butt. I have been growing it out for 2 years. I found a salon and I'm going saturday

I donated my hair a few years back to locks of love.  I thought I'd miss my long hair (which I guess I did a little since I've grown it out long 2 more times since then), but there's so many cute ways to style short hair!

This wil be my second donation and honestly I feel more limited with having hair this long then I do when my hair is shorter. I made my appointment and  I'm going Saturday

I'd like to donate mine someday but it doesn't grow very fast so I always lose patience and cut it.  Maybe someday...

My hair has been long - longer than anyone here has mentioned - my whole life.  A couple of years ago, it was so long that I had to throw it over my shoulder when I went to the bathroom so it wouldn't touch the toilet seat, haha.  (Down past my butt, yeah, that long.)  I chopped off 10 inches to donate, then had it layered, which took another 2 or 3 inches.  And it was still past my shoulder blades, lol.  I like my hair long, and I am growing it back out for the wedding (down to the hips now!) but FI likes it shorter.  So I'll probably pull a Wife Chop and donate it after the wedding.

That's great! I would love to grow my hair that long but I don't have the patience to grow it out longer.

I've donated my hair to Locks of Love twice before, and each time I cut it was still just below my shoulders afterward. DH and I both like my hair longer, so I'm not sure I would have the patience to grow it out that far again. I just know that if my hair won't go back into a bun, it's too short!

Yeah I'm kinda the same way but haven't cut my hair severly in about 4 years. I'm ready for a change. Do you know if Locks of Love charges for the wigs? I heard that they did which is why decided to go with another place.
