What do you do for a living?

I'm curious. Answer only if you feel comfortable.

What do you and your FI/DH/BF do for a living?

Haha! Don't you just love that? :)

Random library nerd question...had you ever worked in one before? I didn't know Library of Congress before I started in the campus library and it was quite the learning curve going from a Dewey/alphabetic system.

Me - I'm a music teacher!  It still is unknown what grade level of type of music I'll be teaching this coming school year, but in the past 4 years, I have taught band, strings, chorus, and general music.  Pretty much every grade level, too!!

DH - inventory auditor with a convenience store servicing company (his reps stock up convenience stores so that the cashier doesn't have to worry about the stuff on the floor, if you didn't know, most convenience stores don't manage their sales inventory anymore these days, they have vendors come in and do it all.)

DramaGeek, FI and I are the same way. I work M-F 7:00-4:00, he works Tuesday and Thursday-Saturday 4:30-until.  So on Tuesday, Thursday, and Friday we won't see much of each other.  Monday and Wednesday we will only see each other after 4:30 (when I get home), and Saturday we will only really see each other unitl 4:30.  Sunday is our only off day together.  This will be interesting.

I am a Business Analyst for the IT department in a local hospital.  I run reports, manage user accounts, fix system issues, and occassionally work on projects like system upgrades.  I go on call every three weeks from Monday-Sunday (just got off call this morning) so if issues for "my" systems occur after hours I get paged and have to log in from home to fix it.  I don't like being on call, but the week after you're on call, you get a half day that Friday (so I get off at 11:00 this Friday).  It's an OK trade-off.

FI is a full time college student who is working part time as a pizza delivery driver to help pay bills and such until he graduates, then he will be looking for full-time employment.

<div>H doesn't have a set schedule.  Generally he does have Sundays off, and then one weekday, so we'll be the same way - see each other Saturday from the time he gets up until he leaves (usually only a couple of hours), Sunday after he gets up, and then whatever evening he's off.</div><div>
</div><div>We actually did this when we were first married and it wasn't bad, but I forgot that I was in school at the time so I had tons of stuff to do - homework, lesson plans, all of that.  I think it actually helped that he wasn't home much.  Now, though, especially during the summer, I am b-o-r-e-d being home alone at night.</div>

I work as a Clinical Laboratory Technologist for a hospital. In other words- when a patient has blood work drawn and its sent "to the lab" its sent to me. We do all the testing on blood, urine, stool, CSF etc and report the results to the doctors so they can treat their patients accordingly.

FI works in human resources as an associate. He does hiring, firing, interviewing, paper work (and a whole bunch of stuff with visas and stuff that I don't really understand).

We used to work together (which is how we met) but I have since left that company and work in the hospital :)
There's only 1 way 2 say those 3 words and that's what I'll do... I love you Image and video hosting by TinyPic

Butting in.  I don't understand why there are multiple systems!  I worked in a library in high school and we used the Dewey/alphabetical system.  i feel lost if I go somewhere that uses Library of Congress.

Until about 2 hours ago I would have said I'm a student being a doctorate in education program in August.  However, I got a call from my chair at the community college where I've taught for two years.  He has two online classes for me to teach!  I've taught both classes (chemistry) in person before, but I've never taught online before.  I'll be a full time student and teaching part time.  woot!

DH is a pediatrics intern.  He just started his second rotation today.   He has weekends off this month, so we're really excited.

<div>ick. I didn't even think of that. I have worked in a library before, but it was a public library with dewey. I could never figure out the alphabetical system when I went to the campus library to get books. Since moving to a new university, I don't know how they organize their books - probably by those crazy letters.... </div>
