 ... when I meet with my boss at 2pm today.  While technically I'm hoping that my contract is renewed and I can sign it today like the other teachers have, I also realize that I really do NOT want to be at this school next year.  I have about 20 or so applications, 12 open school jobs that I'm actively pursuing, and just found another opening today that wouldn't requrie "us" (after July 16!) to move and FI wouldn't have to find a new job.  Most of the other schools I've found openings are somewhere requiring a move, and FI would have to find a new job.  Anyway ...

Prayers for wisdom and the right words to say ... that would definitely be appreciated!!

It went fine, I'm technically "here" for next school year, IF they don't cut chorus ... he didn't let me sign my contract today, but he should know by "later in the summer" if chorus is a class that they will keep or not ... and it might be moved to the auditorium so that ISS can be held in the old "music" room...  Anyway.  It's all a little confusing, but I did have to let him know that I would be looking for another position so that in the event that this one falls through, I have a back-up plan.  In my mental reality, this actual school IS my back up plan, and I am praying SO HARD that another position comes through for next year (and beyond!). 

So many of my department colleagues have told me that if I find anything that needs another teacher in such-and-such type of class, to give them a call.  We had a MASS exodus on Monday of all the teachers who walked in the door on the first teacher workday and said "I quit" and refused to work the rest of the week (they'll be docked 4 sick days).  Anyway ... 3 more workdays, and now I have to pack up EVERYTHING in the chorus room because it's probably going to be moved to another place in the building .... it's all kind of surreal, confusing, etc. 

And if you got through all of that ... here's a piece of chocolate cake for you!!

Yay, someone got the chocolate cake!!! :-)

My spirit has really lifted today.  I prayed for peace and the right heart about the whole thing, and I let God take the burden and He really did.  And he showed me a job opening that would be just Ahhhhhhmazing for me!!!  We'll see if I get called for an interview. .. talked with the principal on the phone earlier today, hopefully that helps a bit!!! :-)

I like chocolate cake!

If you aren't able to find something else, I think next year will be better no matter what.  Your eyes are open to the difficulties you'll be facing, and you won't be coming after a long line of substitutes.  It's bound to be a better experience even if you can't get out of there!

Oh man, this is my second piece of chocolate cake today!  It's my boss's birthday so we had some at work, lol.

I will be praying for you to find an amazing job, preferably one that won't interrupt your FI's employment!  Keep us updated!  I am really emotionally invested in your job search!

I've never understood the "I quit" mentality...I've been raised to work your two weeks (or finish, or whatever the case may be) and leave in good graces.
